CHAPTER 16 Groggy. Heavy eyelids. Strange sounds. Foreign odors. Something stuck in my arm. Pain. Beeping. Confusion. "He's coming around, doctor." The sound was female. Close. Gentle. I tried opening my eyes, which they did begrudgingly. The world was a bright, blurry mess. A face. A female face before me, leaning over. Soft. Warm. Caring. "Mr. Hudson." The voice of an angel.
