On the Run part 2

Anthony woke first, he could hear rain drop on the roof and there was barely any light coming through the curtains. A lazy day around the house was just what they needed. As he laid there listening to the rain, Melissa began to stir. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue but given their position he was trying hard not to get hard. But it wasn’t working. Her plump a** was right up against his growing length and she wouldn’t stop moving. Anthony didn’t want to wake her but didn’t want her to be uncomfortable if she woke. Anthony thought how awkward it would be if she woke to his b***r poking her in the butt. Anthony began to pull away when suddenly Melissa pushed back trying to get into the previous position. She leapt forward realizing why he was moving away. Melissa rolled over, seeing his face she turned bright red. “Anthony, I am so sorry I I didn’t want to lose the warmth of you behind me, I didn’t realize you were pulling away for a reason.” Anthony didn’t know how to play this, should he be goofy, serious, or just play it off. “It’s all good, I just didn’t want you to think I was being pervy, it just woke up so ya know morning wood and all.” Melissa burst out laughing, she hadn’t heard that term since she was in high school. Anthony was shocked that she was laughing, but started chuckling himself, mostly at the sound of Melissa’s laughter. Melissa put her hand on Anthony’s bare chest as she went to say something, losing focus at how firm and strong he felt with just one little touch. He was built and sexy to look at, he hand felt warm from just his touch. Anthony went to wrap his arm around Melissa a pull her in when his phone rang. They both quickly pulled back, as Anthony reached over to answer his phone. Caller ID showed it was Stacey, Anthony thought before answering it, but hit the green button despite his better judgement. “What” he said sharply. Vincent’s voice came from the other end of the phone. “I figured you would answer if I called from the slut’s phone. Bring back my sweet sugar t**s and there won’t be any issues. If I have to hunt you down to get her back it won’t end nicely for either of you.” “what do you even want with her, she doesn’t want to piece of sh** like you anyway? You have plenty of play things including my leftovers from Stacey.” Vincent laughed loudly as Stacey started cursing him in the background. “That’s no way to talk about a lady now is it?” “Vincent I’m not bringing Melissa back so you can forget about it.” Vincent scoffed “Fine I’ll come find you then.” Anthony hung up. Running his hands through his hair he wasn’t sure what their next move was. He glanced over at Melissa, she was visibly shaking, Anthony reached for her and pulled her to his lap. Melissa began to whimper in his arms. “Melissa, please don’t cry, he isn’t going to find us. Melissa sobbed in Anthony’s lap for some time, she was terrified of Vincent finding them or having to run the rest of her life. Melissa sniffled and spoke through her sobs “He’s a mob boss and has resources and can reach us from anywhere with his connections. It’s only a matter of time. I should just got back, I don’t want him to hurt you.” Melissa sobbed some more, but Anthony had a light bulb go of the second Melissa spoke about connections. Anthony’s father had been defending Vincent for years, since he was a teen getting in trouble. Vincent was running out of connections and Anthony knew that the other crime families wanted to replace him. Would one of those families take Vincent down once and for all? Anthony kissed Melissa’s head and jumped out of bed. “Melissa, I think I have an idea.” He explained that a lot of the other crime families were tired of how public Vincent was with everything, how he was a disgrace to their traditions. He had to think this through and speak to a few people, since Anthony knew that he didn’t want to be in debt to another family. Anthony made some phone calls and got in the shower, he was meeting an old friend who happened to work for one of the families that wanted Vincent silenced. Melissa had moved from the bed to the shower, then to the couch. She found a small library of books and was reading to try and keep her mind busy. She was nervous about Anthony leaving, she knew she was safe with the security she had, but felt safest when Anthony was close. “I will be back as soon as I can, these things take time and we don’t want to rush the process.” Anthony wanted Melissa to feel at ease. “Give me your phone.” She looked at him puzzled but handed it over. “I had the security team add the live feeds to your phone so you can see everything around you, don’t stare at it all day and freak yourself out. Use it as a tool to feel safe.” Anthony handed Melissa her phone and grabbed her by the waist and pulled her into an embrace. Anthony kissed the top of her head and was gone.   Melissa pulled the feed up on her phone and saw where all the guards were. She planned her escape route if she needed to leave. After several hours Melissa called Anthony and it went straight to voicemail, she waited a while and tried again, same thing. Melissa was getting worried and decided to ask Carl the head of security if he had heard from the team with Anthony and if they were ok? He hadn’t heard anything, but he said not to worry. It was still raining outside but Melissa needed to get out, she sat outside on the covered porch with a book and a blanket. Melissa was several chapters in when Carl quickly approached her, “I need you to come with me.” Melissa quickly got up and followed Carl inside. “What’s going on?” Carl didn’t respond right away. Melissa was worried and asked again. Carl finally responded and said there was a car approaching and they weren’t sure who it was. Carly explained that if the car fired for any reason she was to run to the back of the house and go with the two security guards who would be waiting. Melissa responded with a shake of her head. Melissa pulled up the feed on her phone, she needed to see what was happening. An odd security person appeared in the front of the house he was wearing regular clothes, not the professional black suit the rest of them had on. He was the only one visible to the driver coming up the path. He approached the driver and started pointing, it looked like he was giving him directions. Melissa wished this thing had audio. The driver began to turn the vehicle around and leave the property. He pulled away and was gone. “This is good right?” Melissa asked Carl as he approached her. “We will need to keep a close eye on the road that leads up to this place. You don’t have that on your phone but we have it on our devices. Sometimes they send drivers by to case the place first. We will be on high alert until we can verify where that vehicle came from.” Melissa was terrified and took a few things and put them in her small backpack and kept it by her just in case. She began charging her phone. She tried Anthony again and same response. Melissa was really worried. Carl’s phone rang, who else could it be? Anthony would be the only call he would take. Melissa waited until he got off the phone, she didn’t have to wait long to find out what it was about. “Miss Young, follow me, stay behind me and keep up.” Melissa had a million questions but knew Carl wouldn’t answer them and she knew she needed to keep quiet for now. He led her to the back of the house, one guard stayed in front with Carl, while the other followed behind Melissa. They went into a small barely noticeable clearing in the woods and began to walk quickly into a dense forest. Melissa couldn’t hear what was being said in their ear pieces but she knew it wasn’t good, because right after Carl announced they needed to pick up the pace shots rang out from the house. “Can you jog Miss Young? We need to cover a few more miles before we will be picked up. We need to put some distance between us and the house and quick, it won’t be long before they notice we are gone if they get past any of the guards.” Melissa didn’t respond, she tightened her bag and began to follow Carl’s lead.                 After about three miles they came to a large clearing in the woods, Carl slowed the team and Melissa. He motioned for everyone to get down. A helicopter could be heard in the distance. Carl was talking to the pilot who could see men coming in the distance. “Melissa before he fully touches down I need you to run as fast as you can, someone will open the door from the inside and I will be right behind you. Do you understand?” Melissa nodded her head and waited for Carl. The helicopter was several feet off the ground when Carl yelled run. Melissa did what she was told, the door opened and she jumped in, before the door shut Carl jumped in behind her and shut the door. The helicopter was back in flight before it even landed. Melissa couldn’t believe what had just happened. Melissa couldn’t even move she was so scared. Carl pulled her from the ground and put her in a seat, buckled her and gave her head phones. “You ok, are you hurt anywhere?” Carl asked as he looked Melissa over. “N No I don’t think so.” Carl Smiled and said “Good, because the boss would kill me if you were hurt. It’s going to be a long ride, we will have to stop for fuel a few times.” Melissa looked at him with a crooked face and asked “Where are we going?” Carl looked back at her with a crooked face, as if she should know not to ask. Until now Melissa hadn’t known that she was sitting next to a complete stranger. It was a tall, slender woman who wore an all back pant suit and didn’t say a word. Melissa gave her a smile but it wasn’t returned. Melissa looked back at Carl and he shook his head at her. This was his indirect way of telling her to be quiet. After two quick stops to get fuel they were taking off a third time. Carl and the lady were talking through their headsets and for some reason Melissa couldn’t make out their words or hear them. Finally Melissa heard the crackle in her ear which indicated that someone was about to speak. “Look at me” she heard Carl say. Melissa turned her head, he took her headset off and said loud enough for only Melissa to hear “Trust me.” Melissa’s sight went dark as something was placed over her head. She struggled a little until she felt a hand on hers. Carl held her hand for about 15 minutes, she felt the helicopter going down and could tell they were landing. Melissa suddenly became uneasy and began to squirm. Carl tightened his grip to indicate that he was there and she needed to settle. Melissa could hear the propellers slowing, they sat there for what seemed like forever. “Melissa move into the next seat to your right.” Melissa did as Carl instructed, he grabbed her by the waist and she felt the solid ground under her feet. She was relieved but scared at the same time. “Melissa, were safe, wearing this is for your protection, once we are inside you will be allowed to take this off.” Carl took Melissa by the waist and guided her from grass to pavement. Melissa couldn’t make out the next surface but knew she was now indoors. “You may remove her hood, we appreciate the cooperation.” She heard the woman who road with them say. Carl reached over and pulled the hood off. Melissa realized she was standing in the foyer of a massive house. Exquisite luxury that was far beyond even the Whitakers pockets. “Please follow me the blonde lady said. Carl and Melissa followed her into an even larger room where Anthony stood with another man. Melissa and Anthony ran to each other and embraced. He pushed her back looking her over, “are you hurt?” Melissa looked him over and he seemed fine as well. “No Carl and your other men took great care of getting me out.” Melissa began to get a sick feeling in her stomach “are the other men alight?” Anthony looked at Carl and back at Melissa. “One got shot, but he will be just fine. I’m sorry I couldn’t get you out sooner.” Anthony pulled Melissa into his chest and held her tight. He reached over with the other hand and shook Carl’s hand. “Thank you for getting her out of there.” Carl just nodded, he knew it was his job and he was happy to do it. “Melissa looked up at Anthony, where are we?” “The Maroni family home, in a non-disclosable location. All you need to know right now is you are completely safe.” Melissa squeezed Anthony tight and knew she didn’t want to let him go
