Ted tugged gently on Amanda’s sleeve, acting all sweet. “Mommy, we give you permission to get married. Just make sure to take good care of yourself and don’t let anyone bully you. Also… can we go out to play?”
Amanda looked at her son’s suddenly pitiful little face. That last part was the real point. She smiled and nodded. “Sure, sweetie. But the world outside is dangerous—remember to wear a mask when you go out.”
She still couldn’t tell the three little ones about finding their older brother. The mischievous trio was too clever for their own good—they’d definitely mess up her plans.
