“HELLO!” A voice shouted from outside making Astra jump in surprise. “What was that?” Astra muttered to herself getting up from the couch heading to the balcony. Sliding the glass door open she poked her head out, and to her surprise she saw a woman walking around outside. “Oliver, look!” Astra shouted pointing down at a woman walking toward the building. “What is it?” Oliver said peeking his head out onto the balcony. His eyes widened seeing the woman walking toward the building. The woman looked to have dark hair, but he couldn’t really tell her features from up here. “ANYONE OUT THERE?” The woman shouted. “Don’t Astra we don’t even know her.” Oliver grabbed her arm his eyes pleading for her to go back inside. “I didn’t know you either, but look we are now fast friends. We need to help her.” Astra turned to look back at the woman seeing her shoulders slump over in defeat. “HELLO!” Astra shouted stepping out onto the balcony. Astra watched the woman look up at her, she stood there frozen staring up at Astra in shock. “I think I broke her.” Astra whispered behind to a scowling Oliver. “I just want to reiterate; I think this is a bad idea.” Oliver said frowning Astra. “It will be okay Ollie ole boy.” Astra glanced back at him with a big grin. “I’M COMING UP!” The woman shouted pulling Astra’s attention from Oliver and back outside. “THIRD FLOOR UNIT 314!” Astra shouted down thrusting her fist into the air. Turning on her heels Astra walked back inside not waiting for the woman to respond. Looking over she watched as Oliver dropped down into the plush brown chair crossing his arms across his chest his lip pouting out. “Oh, stop it Ollie it is going to be fine.” Astra said walking over to him shaking her head. “You don’t know that. Don’t you find it strange that another person arrived in town?” “Don’t judge a book by its cover. She could be in the same boat as us or maybe she knows something that will help us figure out what’s going on here. Please just keep an open mind…For me please.” “Fine.” Oliver sighed rolling his eyes at her. KNOCK…KNOCK…KNOCK “Coming!” Astra sang skipping out of the living room and toward the front door. Swinging the door open Astra smiled widely at the woman. Looking her over she was shorter than Astra but not by much. She had black hair and beautiful olive skin. Scanning her body, she looked to be fit with a muscular frame. She wasn’t overly muscular like she had been partying with steroids, her body was that toned muscular build every woman dreamed to have. What is it with these fit people coming into her life? Maybe she’s the personal trainer or maybe she’s a professional fighter? A throat cleared from behind Astra snapping her eyes from the woman’s body, a light pink kissed her cheeks from embarrassment. Shaking the awkwardness Astra looked back over at the woman with a big friendly smile. “Come in.” Astra grabbed the woman’s arm pulling her into the apartment slamming the door behind them. “I am Astra, and this is Oliver.” Astra pointed over to a still scowling Oliver who plopped down on the couch. “And you are?” “Oh I’m…Well I think I am Nicole.” “Nice to meet you I think I am Nicole.” Astra said winking at her playfully. “What she said.” Oliver grunted glaring daggers at Nicole. “Nice to meet you both as well.” Nicole looked away from Oliver back to Astra. “Umm…Do you know how or why we are here?” Nicole asked. “Nope.” Astra said popping the p. “I was hoping you would know that.” Astra added turning away from Nicole walking over to the couch sitting down next to Oliver. “Oh.” Nicole dropped her head in defeat. “Do you remember anything?” Astra asked patting a spot for Nicole to sit. “No. I woke up on the side of the road alone. I thought I heard someone calling Nicole, and I think that is my name, but I am not sure. Do you guys remember anything?” “No, we don’t. How long have you been here Nicole?” Oliver asked staring daggers at her. “That’s not completely true Ollie. I remember that my name is Astra, and I am twenty-one, but that’s it. Oliver remembers his name, and that he was a photographer, but that’s unfortunately it.” “So, neither of you know what’s going on here?” Nicole walked over sitting down in a plush chair near the couch. “No nothing.” Oliver said rolling his eyes like she had said something stupid. What was this guy’s deal? He didn’t even know her and yet he was acting like she was the devil or something. Did he know her? Had she wronged him in some way? “Do you know me?” Nicole blurted out looking Oliver in the eyes. “No, why?” “Well, you seem to not like me. I figured you knew me, and I had wronged you in some way.” “I just don’t trust you. You didn’t answer my question. How long have you been here?” Oliver asked continuing to assault Nicole with his glares. “I... I don’t know. I woke up yesterday, but I have no clue how long I was unconscious on the side of the road.” Nicole broke their stare off looking down at her hands resting in her lap. She wished she could answer his question, but she really didn’t know. By how dirty her clothes are she could have been laying there for days maybe even weeks, but she didn’t know for sure. “Really, well that is such a shame.” Oliver scoffed looking away from her. He didn’t buy her innocent act; she was up to something. Oliver wouldn’t let her play Astra for a fool, he would stay by her side and make sure this Nicole didn’t try anything. He would keep Astra safe no matter what. “It is. I am sorry you had to wake up like that, and all alone.” Astra looked at Nicole with a sad smile. “It’s okay. How did you end up here?” “I don’t know how I got here, but I woke up in a car lot. I was so sore when I first woke up like I had just gone five rounds with Mike Tyson.” Astra flailed her hands around animatedly trying to paint a picture. Nicole couldn’t help but chuckle at Astra’s comment. She is an odd duck, but she seemed genuine, and very attractive. When Astra first opened the door Nicole couldn’t help but check her out. Astra was slightly taller than herself with long wavy blonde hair, bright green eyes, and the most beautiful face Nicole had ever seen. Well that she thinks she has ever seen, she couldn’t really remember any other person she had seen before. Looking her up and down she could see Astra was fit. She had a firm body with curves in all the right places. Nicole couldn’t help but lick her lips as her eyes scanned every inch of Astra’s body. OH MY! Do I swing that way? Her eyes widened at the thought. Someone cleared their throat from behind Astra before she had pulled Nicole inside. Looking over Nicole saw a not so happy Oliver glaring at her. Seeing this tall well-built man, she was surprised to see she didn’t find him appealing at all. Looking back at Astra she knew without a doubt that she was gay, and that Astra was hundred percent her type. “Nicole?” Astra called breaking Nicole from her thoughts. “Huh?” “I asked if you would like a drink.” Astra tilted her head in amusement. “Oh... ah... Yes please.” “Perfect!” Astra clapped her hands standing up rushing out of the living room. Smiling Nicole watched as Astra disappeared out of the room leaving her alone with Oliver. “So, Oliver. How did you end up here?” “I woke up in the town.” “Was it in the parking lot with Astra?” “No.” “DRINKS!” Astra shouted entering the room carrying a tray with three drinks. Nicole couldn’t help but let out a relieved sigh that she had burst in cutting into the very awkward conversation she was having with Oliver. Nicole couldn’t figure out what his deal was, but for some reason he did not like her. “I have made us some margaritas. Don’t ask I have no clue how I know how to make these, but I do.” Astra handed the glass to Nicole before going over to Oliver handing him his drink. “Thanks Starbucks.” “Starbucks?” Nicole asked her eyebrows pinching together in confusion. “We met in the Starbucks. I made him a great cup of coffee and we soon became the best of friends.” Astra playfully nudged her elbow into Oliver’s side making him smile. “Oh cool.” Nicole nodded looking away from the two taking a big gulp of her drink. “Wow this is amazing.” Nicole blurted out taking another sip. “I know right. I think maybe I was a bartender in another life.” Astra grinned before taking a big gulp of her own drink. “Oh, I forgot to introduce you.” Astra shot up from the couch. Rushing over to the corner of the living room near the big flat screen television Astra spun around looking over at Nicole with a big grin. “This is Mr. Pokey my cactus. Mr. Pokey this is Nicole.” “Nice to meet you Mr. Pokey.” Nicole chuckled raising her glass to the cactus. Shaking her head, she smiled back at Astra. She is a weird one, but Nicole like it. “When I give you the tour of the town, I will introduce you to Bob. Just watch out though he can really flail his arms. He’s got a mean right hook.” Astra laughed at herself skipping over to sit back beside Oliver. “I will do the tour tomorrow though.” Astra shot her drink into the air. “Tonight, we drink and bond!” “To drinking and bonding.” Nicole shot her drink up in the air a big grin plastered on her face. “Ollie ole boy.” Astra whined looking over at a scowling Oliver. “Fine.” Oliver rolled his eyes raising his drink. “To drinking and bonding.” Astra nodded in approval before gulping down her drink. She knew they needed answers, to figure out what was going on. Why they ended up here, and why they had no memories, but tonight she just wanted to have fun. They were stuck together so they might as well get drunk and get to know each other. She would make sure they had a fun night of bonding and booze, that way tomorrow they would hopefully be the best of friends. Thirty minutes later Nicole was laying on the couch laughing hysterically while Astra danced around the living room singing do you like pinacolatos and getting caught in the rain. Oliver sat on the chair wide grin on his face watching Astra dance around. It is true what they say alcohol washed the worries away. The three of them spent the last thirty minutes drinking margaritas and doing shot after shot. “I don’t want this night to end!” Astra shouted spinning around. “Shhh someone is a light weight.” Oliver said pointing over at Nicole who laid on the couch out cold snoring loudly out of her mouth. Oliver stood up from his seat grabbing Astra spinning her around making her giggle. The two of them began to dance around the room to the beat of the music. “You have got moves Ollie ole boy.” “You can move pretty good yourself Starbucks.” “It’s easy when you have a good dance partner.” Astra looked up at him through her lashes. Watching him she bit down on her lower lip a blush brushing across her cheeks. She would never admit this out loud, but Oliver was a very attractive man. He has been so kind to her, and just a great friend only adding to his attractiveness. Oliver looked down at her smiling wide showing off his adorable dimples making her knees feel weak. How could this night get any better?
