The Lightning Lion dashes towards Reggie, he is in his civilian clothing. The Lightning Lion's mane crackles with power. ♦Lightning Strike♦ A strand of lightning goes straight to him. Reggie can take it and die. He does the only thing he can. He throws his knife. They are stainless steel, so they should attract lightning. The bolt hits the knife, super-heating it. The knife shoots past him. He rushes towards the lightning Lion pulling a machete.
In his mind, the danger is acceptable because it can't use its lightning strike, which is its most devastating attack at close range. Also, the relatively small lion's mane means that this is a young male lion. His machete hits it in the mouth, it claws at him. Reggie's range is longer than the lions. The lion responds with a skin-ripping stomach swipe. Reggie was never the best close-range fighter, but this is his first challenge.
The Lightning Lion catches his ankle, sweeping him off his feet. The moves naturally having a flow to it, the Lion leaps, landing on Reggie. As it bites into his shoulder. Reggie fights with everything he got. Thrusting his machete like a dagger into the gut of the Lion pushing with his strength. The Lion tosses him aside like a lifeless baby gazelle. The clatter of collapsing guts is quickly followed by the lion and Reggie's machete.
Reggie crawls towards the lion, his arm aching like a rotting tooth. He pushes into the heart of the lightning Lion pulling out its element stone. Reggie can ignore his physical pain through willpower, he has suffered much worse than this. He spends hours craving the stone down, the techniques learnt from his master. Without an active magic current, the stone can be cut. He shapes it into a small diamond that he embeds in his right shoulder. This is a natural slot in the body, much like an equipment slot through the system. His body senses a lightning element stone tinges the power. Normally, he would have to ingest it, but that could create a permanent magic source in his body. Meaning it would be useless upon his transformation to Archon.
Defeating Anubis will require Reggie to build an army. Horus is Reggie's true goal, but the power behind the man is no joke. Reggie's plans need him to be an Archon. As the system automatically considers an Archon as High lords and Elemental Lords, his path to power will have to counter what he knows about Anubis but also leave him enough room to upgrade in the future. Horus is probably in the Temple of Giza Outer world. It specialises in life and death magic, however, given who his father is and Horus's new memories, he will make that golden tablet his power base. Reggie isn't exactly sure what that tablet is besides a source of power, but he can guess.
Reggie's mind drifts, as he is bleeding out in the savannah. The blood loss takes him to a happy place. It is the day Langa, his son, was born. Langa literally means sun. The name was appropriate because it was the hottest day of the year 3rd of November. The pain wakes him up, reminding him of the genuine pain in his heart where the sun shone its brightest. He feels lightheaded, but he can feel the energy coursing through him, a couple of sparks leaking with his blood. The shoulder wound is much worse than he thought.
The city isn't far, only a forty-five-minute walk west. Towards the flat mountain. The flat-top serves as an airport. They have hollowed out the mountain and built a city on the inside. Being the only defensible position in the small outer world. In his old life, he walked around for two weeks. It was only when he saw the airships landing on the mountain did he head in that direction. By then, all the legendary classes and subclasses had been earned. It is only through years of monstrous effort that he rose to a demigod. This time Reggie wants to go further.
The city of Alacra has all kinds of races, from pointy ear wonders to short long-bearded, the buildings are stone. The roof is a single enchantment that mimics the night sky. He falls on the streets of the city due to blood loss his magic stone almost depleted. His arm is getting worse the more time passes. 'f**k it! I can just sell it.' He doesn't really need arms, he is a magician. The legendary class only needs him to have seven activate elements to get the Magic constructor subclass. He could buy the element stone, but that would limit his gains. The whole point of this outer world is to test one's limits and push through them. Those that score a high rank will often outperform those that have a high class.
Reggie rushes to the worst flesh dealer and downright flesh p*****t. The big-breasted and big purple-eyed beauty. She is unprofessional and downright creepy sometimes. She smells the fresh blood at her door. Rushing out from the back room, leaving behind a half-experimented p***s.
"What the hell do you want!?" She is angry that Reggie is still connected to his arm. The wound is treatable in her estimation. Reggie is leveraging his arm by using the others to hold it up. Its freshness gives it much higher value to her. Reggie needs money to get into the high sector. The high section of Alacra city is where the arena and his future master is.
"How much?" Reggie looks at her, burning a hole in her head. She considers for a few seconds before Reggie uses his other arm to protest. DUFF! He smacks the display, cracking the window. Reggie knows she is in fact fantasizing about the things she can use his arm for. The delirium is so vivid for her because of the fresh smell of blood.
"This is forever if you let me cut you it soul deep." She really wants to do it. Nothing is more valuable than a fresh soul even if it is only a piece. 'He doesn't even know what he is giving to her. This is such a great day and I haven't even played yet.' She moans, touching his arm, imagining what she can do.
"Pay First!" Reggie doesn't want her going into one of her moods and having to wait. She brings out a bag of ten gold coins. A fortune in the city. This is her problem. She doesn't actually understand the value of money and as long as one takes her first offer, they make the most. It took a while for people to figure it out.
She works quickly, Reggie has to bite down on his own belt. She is only obliged to make sure that he doesn't bleed out. By the time she is done, he is a new man without an arm. Once he gets his class, he can create an arm for himself. With ten gold pieces in his remaining hand, he can go to the top section and get to the arena.
The only place in the city outside the imperial palace to get a death stone is the arena. It is the prize given to whoever can beat the champion. For now, Reggie just has to make it to the arena. The arena hangs outside the mountain, giving it a unique view of the savannah.
Reggie heads to the battle master betting his eight remaining coins on himself to fight an Azure Dragon. he would never face a veritable dragon at this stage, but the arena has a giant elemental Komodos, this one is the water elemental version. The fire Komodo's or False Salamanders being the most dangerous.
Reggie is the fourth on the fight list. Showing on the monitors as being one-armed and unclassed means a majority of people are betting against him. This is great for him as he earns fifty per cent of all bets and the arena's favourite currency is elemental stone. They are used in everything from clothing to starbases. Only Gregor, the unlucky bets on Reggie. After having lost everything, he mistakenly puts his last gold coin on Reggie.
A half-giant Tellarman with his booming organic voice, "Today we have a madman from the frontier. The deadly one-armed bandit!!!" Having no class, his scan registers no class, so Reggie is given one weapon with a skill. He takes a serrated sword. They cut away the middle of the sword to facilitate casting spells. Since he is still weak, this is the best weapon for him. It is light but fast and still sturdy enough to work as a sword in case something stupid happens.
The crowd boo's loudly, "f**k you loser!" A small simple face kid screams, "GO home and let real men fight. The women's heckles are the worst, "NO ARM! NO d**k, NO FIGHT!!" They start the most horrendous chant. Reggie flips his swords around. He still got it. He is very rough. Whipping his sword towards the ground, strands of lightning fly out. The ♦Dance of Storms♦ is an outer world higher technique. High-level wizards do everything, including close combat. Not being able to defend oneself without magic is asking to be killed by a mage crusher.
The Komodo bursts out from the floor cages; They have not fed it in weeks. Reggie spins, unleashing lightning shot after lightning shot. He is hoping to catch the monster before it can react, and he runs dry. The lightning is a weakness for the creature. The whole arena goes silent as they witness the one-armed bandit spiralling around the Komodo. Reggie, never stopping his preferred weapon, is a WANDering Spear. He spent years developing his own unique style. His mind is constantly evaluating and adapting his plans. Which has the convenient side effect of him not remembering his pain.
♦The Dance of Storms♦ uses the culmination of his early days to give the enemy a shocking end. The outcome enrages the crowd. The Komodo didn't even have time to attack. The Tellarman doesn't know what to do. It was fair and taking on any more debt will be bad for business.
When Reggie is done, he harvests its stone in front of everybody. If he had more time, he would take its water sack, which is perfect for breathing underwater.
