34 AlmaThe airy hum of the waves sounds through the space as glowing rays of sunshine peek through the windows. With the windows open, I can feel the light breeze on my skin. “It’s a perfect day,” I say, my face contorted into an awful expression as it always does when I apply mascara. I swipe the wand across my lashes. “It really is.
