Chapter 6-Summer Nights Are Ending

Jack Thompson Point of View

                    4 Days Later

    Unlocking my pone I go through my messages and go to a group chat named, 'Ride or Die.'

    Group Chat: Ride or Die

            Me: Don't make any plans for tonight okay guys?

            Carter: What party are we going to this time? 

            Me: The one hosted by Melody Grady in her house at Darien. It's about a 45-minute drive from here.

            Ash: Sebastian do you need me to give you a ride?

            Sebastian: Thanks, bro!

            Ash: I'll pick you up in a few, okay?

            Sebastian: Call me when you are here?

            Me: Hunter? Leo? Kyle? Are you guys going? 

            Leo: Jack you i***t, I live with you! I'm in the kitchen making you a sandwich.

            Me: Oh yeah! Sorry I forgot we live together.

            Hunter: Just for a little bit I don't want a repeat of Melody dry humping me on the dancefloor. 

            Carter: If I'm not wrong I remember someone from our group making out with 5 other girls before                  

            Melody dragged someone to the dancefloor where they proceeded to dry hump one ;)

            Hunter: Well not this time or anytime.

            Carter: Only time will tell!

            Kyle: Who wants to bet that Melody will try to get with Hunter tonight? 

            Sebastian: How much are we betting?

            Kyle: $35? Maybe $50?

            Me: You guys are ridiculous! 

            Hunter: I agree! 

    Shaking my head side to side as I laugh out loud reading the conversation my friends are having in the group chat. Putting my phone in to the back pocket of my jeans I head to the kitchen. Each step I take my stomach makes a louder grumble. Entering the kitchen I see Leo's back face me as he goes to the pantry putting away the supplies used to make my sandwich. 

    I go ahead and take a bite out of the Italian inspired sandwich before putting it back down on the plate. I grab some of the clean dishes and put them in the right place. It does not take long before Leo and I get the kitchen back in order. I walk over to the island and grab the plate and make my way to the staircase. 

    Grabbing the door knob I enter my room where I sigh as I look around and find it is getting to dirty. I collect the dirty laundry from the floor and put it in the correct place. Grabbing the trash from my bed, floor, and desk I through it into the trash bin. I go around my room and make sure it looks its best before I flop on my freshly made bed. I am in desperate need of a nap before I go to Melody party. With a final yawn sleep soon takes over and I go to dreamland. 

                    Three Hours Later

    I slowly come out of my lovely dream and come back to reality. I groan out as I stretch out my arms before moving on to my back mainly focusing on the lower portion and finally my legs. As I take a moment or two to myself I relish in the comfort I find myself in my king size bed. Convincing myself that I need to get out of my bed I head to my bathroom where I turn the facet to the right. The flow of the cold water soon gets warmer and warmer until I find it perfect. 

    I strip out of my clothing and put them in the hamper. Stepping into the warm water I go about my usual routine which only takes about 10 minutes. That is If I am feeling tired or am enjoying the warmth of the water. Before long I am ready to step out of the shower. Grabbing  my white towel I dry myself off and wrap it around my waist. 

    Getting out of the steamy bathroom I head to my walk in closet. As I walk past my nightstand I hear a ping from my phone. Quickly going to check who it is I see it is a message from my brother. 

            Leo: Jack you got five minutes before we head out. 

            Me: Okay I'll meet you in the car. You are driving so start the car now thanks. 

            Leo: Sure grandma. 

    Rolling my eyes I head for my closet and start to look through my clothes. Randomly I grab a pair of boxers and socks. Looking through my shirts and grab a graphic tee before moving to jeans and grab a pair of black skinny jeans. Exiting my closet I run my fingers through my hair before finding my black worn in converse at the entrance. Locking the door and activating the security camera I jog over to Leo's car. 

            Sliding into the seat I look at Leo before saying, "ready to go?"

            "Yep, is it hot enough for you?"

            "Funny but yes it is," I say with an eye roll. 

            "Whatever let's go to Melody's house before the rest of the guys."

                    One Hour Later  

            "Are the guys their yet?" Leo asks me as he focusing on getting to Melody's house. 

            "They should be. None of them have texted me back so means they are already having fun." 

            "Knowing our friends they are probably playing strip poker or playing beer pong," Leo says. 

    As we pull into Melody's neighborhood we could hear the blasting music of the DJ. Each side of the road was parked cars some of whom were shaking side to side. While others chose the cold grass to get it on which had me and Leo laughing. As we near her house we find our spot and park our car. One of the many things I love about our reputation is always having spots reserved for our group.

    Getting out of the car I hear Leo lock his car before we head inside. Looking around we can see the party is at full swing with people dancing outside to the beat of the music. While others are taking body shots off each other stomachs and chests in what looks like a competitive match. Others are so high there already passed out on the many couches spread out or have found a room with a comfy bed. 

    Out of the corner of my eye, I see the rest of our friends come through the backyard doors well, all expect for Hunter. Leo and I make our way to them and give each other a bro hug before talking about the party. I was having fun catching up with them until we get invited to a game of beer pong. Leo, Ash, and I on one team and Kyle, Carter, and Sebastian on the other. 

            As I head to my side of the table I look at Ky, Carter, and blondie before saying, "are you three ready to lose?"

            Snorting blondie looks at me and says," not this time Jack. Now let's get started hmm?"

            "Leo why don't you go up ahead?"

            Leo nods his head before facing off Ky," a little help guys?"

    The crowd that had formed around our game as we got settled started to chant out rock, paper, scissor, and shoot! With that said Ky and Leo made their moves as they both only get one chance. In any game we play we have decided to only get one shot since we do not like to waist time. At the same time they both make their moves. 

    Leo chose to go with paper which is one of his usual moves which could go either way if Ky ever pays attention to stuff like this. Lucky for us Ky chose to go with rock which gave all of us satisfaction at another win. The crowd surrounding us cheer and clapped which gave all of us more motivation to play this friendly game of beer pong. As both Kyle and Leo made their way to their sides of the table Leo came back with a smirk on his face as he shows us the ball in his hand. 

    Once he is on our side of the table he focuses on one of the cups towards the right lowest row that is closets to us. In one swift move he gets the ball to land in the classic red cup. ash goes to high five Leo as the crowd cheers for them. Ash gets the ball and focuses on one of the red cups. Just like Leo he makes the ball into the cup. As I go up I decided this is to easy and want to make it even more fun. 

            "Why don't we make this more interesting hmm?"

            "What are you thinking of doing?" Carter looks at me with interest at what I am about to say. 

            "Lets us play a game of truth or dare," I reply. 

            Blondie looks at his teammates before replying with, "why not Jack, why don't you go first?"

            "Nah ask while I make this into the cup," I say to him. 

            Carter nods his head and asks, "okay truth or dare Jack?"

            "Truth Carter," I say to him as I look for a cup I want to put the ball in. 

            "Is it true Jack that you are single?" Carter asks me as he sports a cocky smirk. 

            "Yes I am," I say as I focus on a cup in the left row.     

    I will give credit to Carter his years as president of student council has paid off again. He knows how to work a crowd perfectly to get his objectives done. Now see, while I was focusing on my aim I did not notice someone coming towards me from the crowd we have. A crowd that seems to be ever growing well, at least from my point of view. It was not until I felt an arm wrap around my lower waist as their other hand slowly slides down dangerously near my crotch and her head rest against me in a side hug that got my attention. Smirking to myself I look down to the fair arms wrapped around my athletic body. My eyes rack over her 5'4 frame, wavy brown hair mixed with a variety of blonde highlights frames her oval shaped face and button nose. My eyes stop at her lust filled hazel eyes that are a detour to her plump baby pink lips. 

            Bending down so my lips hover over her pierced ear I whisper, "now why don't you let me finish this game and then I can give you the same attention you are giving to me?"

            She painfully slows down her hand while she looks up to face me. An all to familiar smirk comes to life on her face. "Well that depends if you even win this game doesn't it, Jack?" She playfully batts her mascara covered eyelashes to drive her statement home. 

    Giving her a slow nod, I focus back on the game with even more motivation to win. As I make my move it is like a green lights for hers. Her manicured hand goes back to my c**k and gives it a painfully pleasurable squeeze to it to which leaves me to sunk in a breath. The ball spins around the rim before falling down on the ground by Carter's feet.

    Clearing my now dry throat I look back down to her as she says, "ooh what a shame Jack." Unwrapping her arms from my body she winks at me before going back to the crowd. 

            Clearing his throat for dramatic effect he gets the attention of all us. "Now that that little show is over why don't we end this? I have someone I need to talk to," Carter winks at me as he makes the ball into our cup. 

                    Several Shots Later     

    With both teams only having one cup standing between their victory dance the pressure on Ash is immense. Ash not knowing any better does not blink an eye as he throws the ball dead center to the other team side. The ball does several loops around the brim of the cup before falling in making us the winners. The uproar of the crowd mixed with the 'not again' and 'they always win' fills me up with cockiness.  The crowd mostly goes back to talking with one another or going somewhere else which leaves a few girls wanting our attention. 

    A stunning curvy beauty dressed in a skin tight black high waisted jeans paired with white tank top and white sneakers plays well with her destress denim jacket. Her jet back hair falls half on one shoulder and the rest on her back, dark chocolate color eyes, and makeup that complements her other gorgeous almond features. It doesn't take long before we get to talk but that soon stops as we notice our friends has finally made it. With a final goodbye I leave to rejoin my friends. 

            "...finally your here Hunter," Ky says as they give each other a bro hug. 

            "Yeah sorry about that guys." Hunter says as he rubs the back of his neck. 

            "Can you guys believe our senior year is a few weeks away?" Carter asks us.

            "It is not only our last year attending Atlas high but it sure is going to be memorable year," Seb says. 

            "It better be guys," Hunter says chucking at the end. 

            "We'll make sure of it," I say. 

            Leo replies with, "only a few ways to make that happen bro." 

            I roll my eyes but say, "and it is going to be. Now lets get some food I'm hungry for-"

            "p***y," Seb yells out which has all of us laughing at him. 

            "Always but pizza sure sounds amazing," I say. 

            "Hunter want to show us the way?" Carter gives a playful look at him. 

            "Just because I f****d her doesn't mean I stayed long enough to remember anything besides the hot tub, her bedroom, and her parents bedroom," He says sending us a smirk. 

    Somehow after looking around for about ten minutes we found our paradise filled to the brim with a variety of drinks and food. I make a b line for the carboard boxes and fill up my plate with three slices of peperoni pizza and two Hawwain pizza. Looking around I add some flaming hot Cheetos and Doritos before heading out. I see Hunter and Leo yelling to each other trying to hear each other over the blasting music. To my left I chuckle as I see Ky and Seb already trying to convince some girls to dance with them. Sooner then I wanted I finished everything on my plate which leaves me slightly disappointed. 

    Moving to the entry way of the modern style of the kitchen I see a row of kegs surrounded by my friends teammates and their girlfriends. Heading over to them I stop mid step when I spot Ash and Aria talking to one another. His possessive dominating side is clearly out as he glares at any guy or girl stares at Aria. Even though his domineering boyfriend attitude is adorable he isn't hers. They have been close friends for years but he's holding back from making a move. Not only is she waiting for him to make a move everyone in our group is waiting to see if this year will be any different. 

    Shaking my head I go back to the keg when I feel someone tap my shoulder forcing me to turn around and look down. 

    In front of me is the prettiest girl at this party hands down. Her long black hair is pulled into a low bun with some hairs frame her olive face. As I stare at this girl I get lost in her features. Her brown eyes, thick eyebrows, long eyelashes, clear skin, light makeup, and full pink lips add to her beauty. The black sheer polka dot top, black skinny jeans, and lace bralette add to her sexiness that is rolling off her in waves. The black heels she has on help with the height difference between us. I guess I was staring for a while that I didn't hear anything she said to me. 

            "I'm sorry what?" I ask her. 

            She chuckles before saying, "dance with me?" 

            "Only if you tell me what your name is," I ask. 

            "It's Stephanie," She says while grabbing my hand pulling us toward the dance floor. 

    Once we're on the floor we waste no time before moving to the beat of the song. I don't know how long we were there for but it didn't matter. All I wanted to do was stay with Stephanie all night long. 

Hunter Young Point Of View

    The moment I pulled up to the party where my friends and I got invited too I could not stop thinking about her. Ellie. No matter the number of girls trying to get my attention I would always go back to her. How perfect her smile is or how her eyes are a beautiful shade of blue. I look around the crow of people before I finally find my friends enjoying their time. After getting food in our system I ask Leo if we could talk away from the group for a bit. 

            "What do we need to talk about Hunter?' Leo asks getting to the point. 

            "Do you really think Ellie likes me?" I ask fearful of his answer.

            "Hunter, of course, she likes you. From the moment she notices you she was a goner, okay?" Leo asks as he grips my shoulders. 

    He always knows how to calm me down. After talking for a little more we go back outside to find the others. We see Ash dancing with a girl that looks familiar but I don't know from where. Maybe school but I'm not so sure. Jack is busy dancing with a girl not too far away from Ash. It looks like both of them are having fun. Moving away we see Ky and Sebastian talking to some girls while Carter is busy playing another game of beer pong with guys that go to our school. Ash comes with the girl he was dancing with to Leo and I. 

            "Leo Hunter I want to introduce you to Aria Diaz, my girlfriend." He says as he looks at her in a daze.

            "Congrats man," Leo says. 

            "Took you long enough," I say to them and Jack agrees with me. 

            "Your one to talk Hunter. Why don't you ask her out already?" Ash says while giving me a playful smirk.

            "Touche Ash touche." 

            "So I gotta ask, what do you see in this bozo?" Leo asks making Ash narrow his eyes at him.

            Aria giggles then look up at Asher who is still glaring at Leo. Looking back at us she says, "Look at him! He's a teddybear plus he has that-"

            "Okay, that's all I want to know about Ash and you," Leo says cutting off Aria who's laughing at us. 

                    Four Hours Later

    All of us were a few drinks away from forgetting each other's names. It had been so long since I've been this drunk with these guys. All of us were dancing with random girls besides Ash, Jack, and I. I couldn't dance with some other girl when my mind is on Ellie. Thinking about what she is doing right now? Is she asleep? Or could she be waiting up for me..? 

    I look at my watch and see it's about to be 3:23 a.m. Suddenly I am pulled into the dance floor by the host of the party. Melody Grady's black hair with blue tips is down in loose beach curls that reach her back just slightly above her waist. She has on this tight two-piece white crop top and skirt that is too short leaving nothing to the imagination. The moment her lips were on mine I sobered up and pulled her away. 

            "What's wrong baby?" She asks with a pout while trying to put her arms around my neck.

            "First don't 'baby' me and second don't you ever try to kiss me again, okay?" I ask with a glare to show her how serious I am. 

            "Hunter don't be like this. I know you miss my body. You and I know that no one can give you what I can," she says while moving her hands to my waistband. 

            I stop her hands then grab then and look into those delirious eyes before speaking to her, "Melody do not test me. I don't want you now or ever again, okay?" 

            "But Hun-" 

    I cut her off by leaving her to stand all alone. My mood ruined by her I decided that I should do the only thing that could possibly help calm me down.  I tell my friends over the group chat that I'm heading out. 

Group Chat: Ride or Die

            Jack: The spear key is under the 3 pot to your left

            Kyle: See yeah at the house later

            Leo: Drive safe okay?

            Carter: Order us pizza or something

            Me: What kind?

            Jack: 5 large pepperoni pizzas, thanks!

            Sebastian: Thank you, princess!

            Ash: Leaving so soon?

            Carter: We all know where he is going..tell Ellie we said hi

            Kyle: We all need to hang out again! I LOVE GAMENIGH!!!

            Ash: Think about what I said earlier today!

            Me: I will think about it but I am not making any promises okay?

            Ash: Yeah yeah just remember to be romantic" 

    I leave Melody's house and head straight for my car. I call our local pizzeria and place an order for 2 pepperoni pizzas, 2 sausages, and 1 Hawaiian pizza. I open up the Spotify app and search through my playlist for the perfect song to jam out on my way back home. I finally find the perfect song called Ill Mind of Hopsin 5. I press play and soon enough the beat of the song and lyrics flow through the car speakers. Adding fuel to the fire that is inside of me just waiting to be set free. 

            "...Fuck life, you can't tell me nothing.."

            "..You see this 8-inch d**k bulging out of my pants? Well, she sucked it..."

    As the song plays I make my way to the pizzeria and pick up my order. I eat a slice from each box. Soon I pull up to Leo's and Jack's house where I park and head over to Ellie. I wait for a solid 15 minutes before getting the nerve to text Ellie. Before I press the button I let out a long sigh hoping she would respond soon. 

            (Phone conversation)

            Hunter: Hey Ellie, it's Hunter

            Ellie: Hey Hunter, what's up?

            Hunter: Glad you're awake. Can you come outside to talk?

    It's been about a minute and still no response from Ellie. Feeling disappointed I walk back to Leo's and Jack's house. That was until I feel someone grabbed my shoulder making me turn around. She was wearing black leggings, a grey sweatshirt with her name on it, and her hair was in a messy bun. I have a slight smile on my face as I catch her staring at me looking over my outfit then slowly moving to my lips. Finally meeting my eyes. Seeing her patience growing thin I break the silence by grabbing her hands and lead her further into the yard.
