Chapter Twelve Valentina I clicked through the spreadsheet, smiling when the numbers added up to what I expected. When I went to college, I didn’t know what I wanted to do, yet I had always loved math. Something about the certainty of it soothed me. Between being homeschooled and having parents who were religious in an earthy sort of way, kind of flaky, and ready to save the world at the same time, well, it had all added up to me not fitting into any category too easily while I was growing up.
