Rogues.....
What were they doing in our territory?
------
I was so close, yet so far- the loudness of the music in town seemed to drown out everything around me.
My nerves caused a ringing in my ears as I could feel their presence just meters away. They were in the trees, and though I was fast I knew they were faster. Possibly bigger.
I practically tip-toed into my yard, just needing to get past them a bit more- just enough to be able to yell loud enough for Dad- or someone to hear me.
Kane look at her...
A deep grumbled voice intruded my head as the scents stunk up the air around me. I could hear their mind connect. I could feel their eyes on me. Slowing me even more. I couldn’t decide what was the safest route to go, and their voices infiltrating my mind only distracted me even further.
Hmm I know, she’s breathtaking, isn’t she?
Another said, his tone raspier.
I was right in front of the stairs, all I had to do was make a quick lunge for the front door; or even yell at the top of my lungs, but before I could decide which would be more helpful, one was towering over me.
The tall man stood bravely on the lower step of my home’s porch.
He was intimidating to look at, his facial structure was strong and stern- paired with his muscular build, despite my abilities- being top 3 in our class would be nowhere near enough- I knew I was no match to handle this alone.
His voice was deep, rough almost as he drawled, “Looks like we got lucky on our first try, Blake…” His head tilted slightly as he glared at me. “Our sweet girl was just out… wandering around all alone.”
My eyes narrowed at the man, I could smell the other wolf with him but he wasn’t in sight.
“Get the f**k out-” Before I could finish my threat, the other’s hand roughly covered my mouth from behind, causing immediate panic.
How did he get behind me so fast?
I began to thrash- swinging and scratching, hoping that something would stick at this brute would let me go.
Lucky bastard..
The man in front of me grumbled in his head, intently watching my efforts to get free.
Blake let out a lowly chuckle as his other arm wrapped around me, grasping me tightly.
His lips and nose pressed against the back of my head, feeling chills down my spine as he inhaled deeply- taking in every ounce of my scent. An intense growl left him.
“Yeah, you aren’t gonna get away that easily, little one..” He murmured under his breath, his fingertips pressed into my cheeks and the side of my body so roughly I just knew there’d be evidence of them for days to follow.
“Kane, she smells so sweet..” He muttered, I could feel his warm breath brush against my ear. He looked over - peering over at his apparent brother- watching intently as he waltzed over to us.
“Just like I thought you would..”The man smirked, taking me in again.
Just like I thought!? Why would he say that?
Softly, he began petting my hair. “She’s exactly what I dreamt her to be like..”
Licking his lips, Kane lowered his form to meet me eye-to-eye his darkened gaze locking on me as I struggled against the other still despite knowing my tries were going to be futile.
“Hmm..” Kane’s prying eyes scanned my form, it felt intense- the pressure in my chest only grew as the knot in my stomach made me sick.
He looked over me as if he’d eat me right then and there.
His dagger-like stare practically burned through the thin fabric that made up my dress. It was violating.
“I don’t know how that prick could just throw you away like that, sweet girl..” He smirked, baring his canines slightly.
He seemed to enjoy whatever mind games he was playing. And unfortunately, he was winning.
Confusion warped my expression as I stared back at him.
How did he know about that? Were they watching me all night?
“Let’s go before our girl alerts anyone.” He replaced the other man’s hand in my hair, stroking the loose strands out of my face and behind my ear. His touch was even more gentle, sweet almost.
“We’re going to have so much fun..” Blake chuckled, his tone was dark- menacing.
“Wait- Can’t let the fam worry too much can we?” He said, causing me to thrash even harder as my mind instantly worried- despite not knowing if they were already at the festival or not- the thought of these maniacs breaking in and hurting them filled me with a kind of fear that I’ve never felt before.
“Calm down, puppy.” He sneered, the pet name leaving a gross taste in my mouth as it snaked off his tongue.
Letting his hold on my mouth go, he reached behind him. My mind wandered with horrific thoughts,
Was he going to stab me? Shoot me? Hurt me in some way?
It was as if he knew the fears that made my mind run wild because my weak shifting around caused him to chuckle, “Darling girl, no one’s gonna hurt you.” He murmured, pulling out a phone.
MY PHONE.
I lunged for it as he unlocked it from a distance with face recognition.
DAMN TECHNOLOGY.
Kane laughed in sync with the other psycho who held me close.
“Don’t worry, don’t worry.” He said, grazing his thumb along my jawline. His eyes pierced me like a stake, it felt as if he were just drinking me in the way a predator stares down its prey. Ecstatic at their catch. “We’re just gonna send the fam a little text, can’t have them looking for you too hard can we now?”
“Let me go!” I screamed, thrashing as Blake opened our family chat, and attempted to type but couldn’t due to my movements.
“Catch.” He playfully retorted towards the other man, tossing my phone his way.
Kane easily caught the device, “Hmm let’s see…” He said aloud, pondering on what to say.
It was violating having this brute hold me the way he was. Having the other touch me.
But somehow, it was, even more, invading watching as Kane’s crimson eyes scanned the phone screen- I could see his eyes reading the last texts my family bombarded me with, and it was… embarrassing.
I felt embarrassed as he read the congratulatory texts knowing they had already known about what had happened tonight before my family even did. I don’t know why I felt this way, maybe it was stupid but my pride was hurt and not even being kidnapped by two lunatics could erase that feeling.
“Let’s go with something plain and simple.” Kane continued, knocking me from my sulking thoughts as I kind of just slumped into the other man. “Lucas left me.” He said aloud as he typed his words. “I need time away to think. I’ll come home when I’m ready.” Nodding, he shot the two of us a toothy grin, obviously proud of his work. “And send.”
It broke my heart knowing they would be so afraid wondering where I had gone off to.
I knew once Lucas announced his engagement to Melody, and revealed her as Luna- my absence at the festival would be explained away, even more so once they saw the text.
But I knew my mother would still worry herself sick. My dad too, even if he were better at hiding it than her. They were always incredibly overprotective of Chris and me, and that didn’t go away even as we grew up.
“Once we’re home, maybe-” Blake leaned his head down, nuzzling into the nape of my neck as he spoke in a breathy tone.
Despite not knowing a thing about these two, I knew men. I could feel the neediness leaching off him as his body stayed tight to mine.
What would happen now?
“-Maybe we’ll explain everything to you.” He continued, planting a soft kiss on my ear lobe that sent chills down my spine. “I promise we’re not so bad.”
Kane motioned towards us, signaling their leave. “Come on, before someone ends up seeing us.” The two calmly began walking, Blake’s hold on me even tighter than before. “We don’t need a search party being sent after us.”
“Not like they’ll find you anyway..” Blake teasingly added as they swiftly made their way into the woods. “And even if they did… Not like we’d let anyone steal you away.”
Kane smirked towards me, nearly chuckling as he noticed the tears threaten my eyes once again.
With a teasing wink and a mocking tone, he said, “Oh, puppy, don’t cry.” Blake’s malicious laughter sent chills throughout your body as his brother continued his teasing as they took me passed my pack’s borders. “We’re good guys I promise.” Kane continued, licking his lips once again as I attempted to free myself one last time- hoping that their running would throw off their balance, even if it were just enough to loosen Blake’s grip.
“Not uh,” Blake grumbled, earning a pained whimper from me as he dug his nails into my side. His nails ripped into my dress.
The man relished the sound against his palm, “We’re almost there..” He hummed against the nape of my neck, lifting me slightly as their sprint slowed.
“Let’s get you home, pet.”
His words made that sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach come back. The way these maniacs seemed to get off on their bullying, or teasing, whatever it may be, made every organ in my body twist and turn with a sudden wave at nausea.
If they liked toying with their victims mentally, what else would be in store for me now?
My brain filled with fear and worry with every mile that we passed, and then even more so as we made it to a small, secluded clearing in the woods.
The small cabin that sat right in the middle of it felt like a stereotypical horror movie set.
This all felt like a scene from a scary movie, matter of fact.
If only.
We were so far from my pack now. Despite all the chaos going on in my life, every bit of this made me desperate to be home again.
I would be home again. I had to be. I wasn’t my father’s daughter for no reason.
Their sprinting slowed to a run then to a jog before finally stopping in unison.
“Home sweet home..” Kane said, grinning from ear to ear as Blake set me down, pushing me over to the other wolf slightly as if silently tagging him in on babysitting duty.
Asshole.
Instantly, Kane pulled me into his arms.
His scent again invaded my nose, despite what I wanted to think of him, he smelled so lovely- the pine and woodsy notes were comforting in a sense.
My body automatically tensed as his strong arms snaked around me, holding me in a gentle yet bordering aggressive way.
It felt like a sweet warning, a silent show of newfound dominance.
“Oh sweet girl,” He mewled, kissing my shoulder.
He didn’t cover my mouth, he didn’t strengthen his hold on me as we stood there out in the open, feet away from their home.
Subconsciously I knew there was no need for him to do so here after all.
If you try to scream, no one will hear you. And if you try to run, we’ll find you, little mouse.
I nodded immediately knowing he figured out the curse that the Goddess bestowed on me tonight, his inner voice was just as intimidating as it was when I first heard it hours ago.
“Don’t be afraid,” Kane continued aloud this time, smirking impishly as he seemed to read my body language, his tone dripped with enthusiasm as Blake silently walked ahead, stretching his muscles out from the marathon he just ran with me in his arms.
Before heading in, he turned back, offering his brother a small nod and smile before fixating his eyes on me.
His eyes ran up and down my body, violating me mentally just as his brother had for a moment longer before making his way in without another word.
As Kane walked us forward, “Don’t be scared of us, my sweet girl..” He purred, letting go of me as he moved in front of me, staring me down as he took my hand, leading me to the house.
Our eyes met and I kept my gaze locked to his, watching every move he made. Anxiety still coursed through my veins, and I still didn’t know what they wanted with me.
I didn’t know why they were watching me.
I didn’t know what their end game was, and I think that scared me most of all.
“What are you guys going to do with me?” I boldly muttered, trying my absolute hardest to disguise the shakiness in my voice with bravery. “Are you guys going to kill me?”
Kane laughed deeply, almost as if I had told him the funniest joke in the entire world.
What the f**k?
Is this all some kind of sick joke to them?
Shaking his head, he straightened himself back up, clearing his throat.
His eyes returned to that crimson shade from earlier in the night.
“You’re home now, silly?” He hummed, offering a small grin. His eyes still told me nothing about his true intentions.
Home?
This was not my home.
He took me from my home.
Immediately, the anger in me bubbled to the surface.
How f*****g dare he!?
“You f*****g psycho!” I screamed, nearly in a roar as I raised my hand, balling it up in a fist before slamming it against his jaw without warning, his head snapping to the side. “This!” I screamed, lunging at him and knocking him back onto the ground.
I wanted to kill him.
I wanted to kill his stupid f*****g brother.
“This is not my f*****g home!” My nails sharpened into claws as my canines grew, my nose crinkled into a snarl, bearing my teeth as I straddled him ready to dig my claws into his esophagus when he suddenly flipped the script with ease.
A deep, thundering growl emanated from his chest as he placed himself on top of me, grabbing both of my wrists so harshly it felt as if they might break under the pressure.
“That is the f*****g-” Kane began, his voice deep and raspy as he barked at me. His canines protruded slightly now as he spoke. “That is the f*****g first and last time you’ll do that. Do I make myself clear?” He asked, his gaze narrowed as he watched me reluctantly nod.
Breathing heavily, I turned my head to the side, breaking eye contact with him as my face turned red.
I was so mad, I was so embarrassed, I felt so many emotions all at once but I didn’t want him to know that.
“Not uh.” He immediately snapped, releasing one of my wrists before quickly grabbing it again with his other hand. With his newly freed hand, he instantly grabbed my jaw, pressing his fingertips into my cheeks as he forced our eyes to meet. “Use your words, little one.” He said, his tone mocking now as he noticed the blush on my face. “Apologize, tell me you’ll behave. And maybe I won't tie you up outside like an animal since you want to act like one.”
Tears pricked my waterline as my emotions all boiled over.
My body returning to its normal state now.
He watched, relishing the anxiety he was instilling with his little threat.
I needed to survive… I needed to survive long enough to figure out a way home or until I was somehow found. And I knew that meant having to play house with these two assholes.
“I’ll behave…” I muttered in almost a pout, sniffling as my eyes betrayed me and allowed my tears to overflow. “I’m sorry..”
Kane smirked, smacking his lips slightly as he nodded.
Roughly, he released the hold on my face, practically pushing my face back into the ground as he rose off me, keeping my wrists tightly in his grasp as he pulled me up off the grass.
“Now that we have that settled.” He hummed, obviously pleased with himself.
The red in his eyes dissipated now and his canines slowly shrunk.
Pulling me along, he kept me beside him as he walked to the front door, “Let’s get inside, the nights are awfully cold lately.” He gently rubbed my shoulder, the softness he offered now was a stark contrast to the brutishness he had just shown me.
I knew I had no other choice but to follow and see what tomorrow brought.
