Emilia’s POV
The alpha studied me intently, his eyes searching for any signs of deception. "And have you been involved in the recent chaos that has plagued our pack?"
My heart skipped a beat, and I shook my head vehemently. "No, my alpha. I swear on my life, I had no part in it. I have remained loyal to you and the pack, as I always have."
His gaze bore into mine, his scrutiny unrelenting. After what felt like an eternity, he finally nodded, a subtle sign of acceptance. "Very well," he said, his voice low and grave. "You may leave."
That was it? It seemed too easy, but I was willing to leave him and make my way out of here.
