The smirk on Lucian’s face widened when he heard me accept his words. “Good. That’s all I ask.” He tucked the tape away and stood up, looking down at me with satisfaction. “Now, get out. You have work to do.”
I stood up on shaky legs and walked to the couch to take my clothes before I got out of the room, feeling Lucian’s gaze burning into my back the whole way.
Once I was outside, I took a deep breath, wore my clothes as I tried to steady my nerves. The task he’d given me felt impossible, but I had no choice. I had to try, for the sake of my own survival.
