Chapter 2: Louis Stone, You’re So Ruthless

976 Words
"Rebecca, go back home first. I'll talk to you about this later." Louis hung up the phone and frowned heavily. It was evident that he was worried and distressed, but this concern he had wasn't directed towards his wife. Rebecca pushed him away grudgingly. "Go ahead. She's more important to you after all." But she was in deep anguish. Louis wanted to say something, but nothing came out in the end. He hailed a cab, took her into the car, and left in a hurry. Rebecca couldn't help but smile bitterly. What was the point of having someone else's man in her heart, and clinging onto a marriage like this? When she got home, the servants greeted Rebecca, but she didn't seem to hear them. She stared at the black-and-white bedroom that she was never a part of and suddenly felt like a joke. Her marriage was more like a farce, and it was really over now. Rebecca waited all night for Louis. He didn't even call. His coldness pierced Rebecca's heart like a needle. "Baby, I'm sorry. Mommy can't offer you a perfect family. But don't you worry, Mommy will love you with all my heart in the future." Tears streamed down Rebecca's face as she signed the divorce papers that she had printed out that same night. Every stroke felt like a s***h on her heart, making it drip with blood. After signing, Rebecca took off the wedding ring that Louis had given her and put it beside the divorce papers. She had once treasured this ring. In the past three years, the ring had left a mark on her finger. Now that it had been removed, the mark was still there. It was just like her love for Louis. These traces would always remain and no matter how hard she tried, she could not erase them. Rebecca felt very weak. She was afraid that she would be hesitant, so she picked up her luggage and left with determination. "Mrs. Stone, Ms. Schmidt is in poor health, so Mr. Stone is accompanying her. He has ordered us to send you abroad. We are setting off now." As soon as Rebecca stepped out, Louis' bodyguard blocked her. What he said made Rebecca furious. "Why should I go abroad? I'm not going!" "I'm sorry, Mrs. Stone, but you have no choice!" The bodyguard knocked out Rebecca swiftly and dragged her into the car. She was brought to an abandoned warehouse, and then her clothes were stripped off. A man laid beside her and stroked her. Photos of them in compromising poses were being taken with a camera. "Ms. Schmidt, it's done." After the photos were taken, a phone call was made to Paislee immediately. Paislee sneered and said, "Very good. Upload these photos onto the Internet later. I reckon that Louis wouldn't want a cheater as his wife. Wrap everything up nicely after you're done." "Alright." After hanging up the phone, the man poured gasoline around the warehouse and then set it on fire. The flame ignited greatly. The surroundings became so hot that it was stifling. When Rebecca regained consciousness, she was surrounded by a sea of fire. The thick smoke suffocated her so much that she couldn't open her mouth, and the flames were mercilessly rushing towards her. "Help! Help!" Ignoring the fact that she was naked, Rebecca used a pole to knock on the door of the warehouse. Suddenly, she heard the voice of the bodyguard coming from outside. "Mrs. Stone, I'm sorry. Mr. Stone gave the orders for all of this. Please go peacefully. Mr. Stone will pick a good resting place for you." Rebecca stopped instantly. Did Louis want her to die? Why? Was it because both her and Paislee were pregnant? Was it because he wanted Paislee to be his wife so that their child could be born legitimately? "Louis Stone, you're so ruthless! You wouldn't even be considerate towards your own child?" she thought. ... Rebecca cried out in sorrow, "Louis Stone, I hate you! I was blind to fall in love with a cold-blooded man like you in this life. If there is a next life, I'll let you have a taste of being killed by the person you love!" ... The raging fire smothered her words. It was difficult for her to breathe, and her eyelids were heavy. She could no longer hold on as she fell to the ground, allowing the fire to burn her skin and devour her soul. Five years later. Dominic handed the information he had to Louis. "Mr. Stone, this is the information about the designer sent by HJ Group from America. She will be arriving at Mimery today. Should we send someone to escort her? I heard that this designer is very famous abroad. The sports cars she designs are in high demand. If it weren't for our partnership with HJ Group, they wouldn't have let her come here to guide us." "Catherine?" Louis' narrowed his eyes slightly. "Yes, the designer's name is Catherine." Dominic nodded. ... Catherine was a sports car designer who had just made it big in the last two years. The first sports car she designed was "Wings Of Love", which won the first prize of an international design competition. This sports car had not been listed on the market yet, but people from distinguished backgrounds were already fighting for it. However, apparently Catherine had only produced two sports cars, both having extravagant prices, but there were still people willing to pay for the cars. Due to the partnership with HJ Group, Catherine personally came to Mimery. Louis had always liked sports cars, so Dominic brought her up. If only he could keep Catherine in Bullimited... Louis narrowed his eyes again. He took a look at Catherine's information. When he saw Catherine's real name, he froze instantly.
