[Day 5, Dec. 24 – Wintermist Island] Octavia After the chaos of Margaret’s murder and the subsequent investigation, everyone was directed back to the ship for the planned Christmas Eve party. Though we were still docked at Wintermist Island, the festive gathering had been organized long before the tragedy. The ship, with its elegant decorations and twinkling lights, offered a different air to the heavy sorrow that lingered among the passengers. The black-tie dress code had been hastily revised to an all-black mourning theme in Margaret’s honor, a sign of respect for her death, and though there was music playing softly in the background, it felt like a requiem.
