“Lewis!” I hissed, my cheeks burning.
How could he just blurt that out?
Dave’s eyes widened, his entire body going rigid.
“You told him?” he asked, his voice low and dangerous.
Before I could answer, Lewis cut in, stepping closer to Dave with infuriating calmness.
“Yes, she did,” Lewis said smoothly, tilting his head.
“What are you going to do about it, Carter?”
“Lewis, stop!” I protested, but my voice was barely above a whisper, drowned out by the storm brewing between them.
Dave’s fists clenched at his sides as he glared at Lewis. “This is between me and Octavia,” he growled. “You have no business being here.”
Lewis raised an eyebrow, his smirk unfaltering.
“Oh, I think I do,” he said. “ I know you've caused her enough pain."
