[Day 8, Dec. 27 – Wintermist Island] ~Octavia~ My mind was still reeling from the argument with Lewis earlier. No matter how many times I replayed his words, guilt gnawed at me like an unforgettable nightmare. Even the steaming shower I’d taken or the icy chill that seeped into the cabin couldn’t wash away the aftermath of our confrontation. Lewis was a good guy. Too good. He didn’t deserve what I’d done, and the shame of using him to try to fill the gaping hole Dave had left in me was almost too much to bear.
