4 As Connor reversed out of my driveway, Mia came and grabbed my leg. ‘Unca Connor coming back?’ ‘No, sweetie. He’s working.’ That reminded me I had to return to the pub and close up. I sighed and got Mia ready for bed. She’d be asleep in the car before we came home again and it would be easy to carry her in already in her PJs. My heart sank when I pulled up outside the pub.
