Ginette quirked an eyebrow at her. “You’ll think about it? I have to admit, I thought I made a compelling offer.”
Kira met her gaze. “You didn’t mention a time limit. And I’m not the only person my decision will affect.”
Ginette’s eyes narrowed. “Everything I told you tonight, I told you in confidence. I was willing to share my identity and past with you, but that information does not extend to any of your friends—police or otherwise.” Her voice hardened. “I hope I make myself clear.”
Kira shook her head. “I won’t tell anyone. But I need time. I can’t risk Rob’s sisters without his knowledge. And if I come back from the party to tell him I met someone who can help protect them…”
