24 Kira slipped away from Trevor’s arm and followed the sound of the string quartet she had noticed earlier across the gleaming hardwood floor. She passed through a sitting room filled with people chatting. Eyes drifted toward her as she passed. A smile tugged at her lips as she spotted a man with a monocle among the crowd. He was nibbling a tiny sausage on a toothpick. Trevor had managed to run into the infamous Marlena Templeton and couldn’t seem to resist making hints at her garage rendezvous with Owen Carlyle. Marlena could not seem to draw herself away from Trevor—Kira could see her wondering how much he knew. She also caught the other woman making speculative looks at Trevor’s ass when he wasn’t paying attention. Kira had quickly grown tired of the whole thing. Trevor was right. N
