39 Kira rushed back to her apartment, driving much more aggressively than usual. After leaving the dance studio, she had spent some time on her phone, doing research and making calls. She had wanted to lay some groundwork before moving ahead with the next stage of her plan. The sun had set awhile ago. The night sky was lit up by traffic lights and the headlights of other vehicles. They seemed to pass by in a blur. By the time she reached her own street and usual parking spot, she had practically no memory of how she had gotten there. Her mind felt full to bursting with more dangerous matters, running in tireless circles. She turned off the car. For a moment, she sat in the silent darkness. She leaned back against the headrest and closed her eyes. Am I sure about this? She bit her lip.
