Chapter 4-Hidden Truth

671 Words
Emma arrived at the park early, her nerves on edge. What did Ryan want to share? As she sat on a bench, Ryan appeared, looking anxious. "Hey," he said, sitting beside her. Emma nodded, her heart racing. Ryan took a deep breath. "I've been thinking a lot about our marriage. And I realized something." Emma's curiosity piqued. "What?" Ryan's eyes locked onto hers. "I wasn't honest with you. Or myself." Emma's brow furrowed. "What do you mean?" Ryan hesitated. "I had feelings for someone else." Emma's world tilted. "Someone else?" Ryan nodded. "It was a mistake. I know that now. But at the time, I felt trapped." Emma's mind reeled. This was the reason for their divorce? "Why didn't you tell me?" Emma asked, her voice shaking. Ryan's expression turned tormented. "I was afraid of losing you. And I didn't know how to end it." Emma felt a mix of emotions: anger, sadness, and betrayal. "Why are you telling me this now?" Emma asked. Ryan's eyes pleaded. "Because I want you to understand. I want you to forgive me." Emma stood up, her heart heavy. "I need time to process this." Ryan nodded, standing up. "I understand." As they parted ways, Emma felt lost. Had she ever truly known Ryan? Emma walked home, her mind reeling. She couldn't believe Ryan's confession. As she entered her apartment, Emma felt a wave of emotions: anger, sadness, and betrayal. She grabbed her journal and began writing. "Why didn't I see the signs? Was I blind?" Emma's tears fell onto the pages. Just then, her phone buzzed. Rachel's name flashed on the screen. "Hey girl, how's it going?" Rachel asked. Emma hesitated, unsure how much to share. "It's been a tough day," Emma said, her voice shaking. Rachel's tone turned serious. "What happened?" Emma took a deep breath. "Ryan confessed. He had feelings for someone else." Rachel's gasp echoed through the phone. "What? That's awful!" Emma nodded, even though Rachel couldn't see her. "I know. I feel so betrayed." Rachel's voice softened. "You're strong, Emma. You'll get through this." Emma smiled weakly. "Thanks, Rachel." As they talked, Emma realized she needed to take care of herself. "Rachel, I need to focus on me now." Rachel agreed. "That's the best decision you can make." Emma spent the next few days focusing on herself. She practiced yoga, read self-help books, and reconnected with old friends. One evening, Emma received an unexpected text from Mike. "Hey Emma, want to grab dinner tonight?" Emma smiled. Mike's timing was perfect. "Love to," she replied. Over dinner, Mike shared stories about his job and family. Emma listened intently. As they finished dessert, Mike's expression turned serious. "Emma, I've been wanting to ask you something." "Go ahead," Emma said. Mike hesitated. "Are you doing okay? Really?" Emma's eyes welled up. "Honestly? I'm trying." Mike nodded. "You're strong, Emma. You'll get through this." Emma smiled weakly. "Thanks, Mike." As they parted ways, Emma felt grateful for Mike's support. The next morning, Emma received an email from her boss. "New project opportunity. Interested?" Emma's heart skipped a beat. This could be her chance to shine. "Yes, I'm in," she replied. Emma dove into the new project, determined to succeed. Her colleagues noticed her renewed energy. "Emma, you're crushing it," her coworker said. Emma beamed with pride. Work had become her sanctuary. One evening, as Emma left the office, she stumbled upon Ryan. "Hey," he said, looking hesitant. Emma's instincts told her to walk away, but she stayed. "What do you want?" Emma asked. Ryan took a deep breath. "I've been thinking... maybe we could try therapy together." Emma raised an eyebrow. "Therapy? For us?" Ryan nodded. "To work through our issues. For closure." Emma considered his proposal. Could therapy help her heal? "I'll think about it," Emma said. Ryan nodded. "That's all I can ask for." To everyone one reading 📚 this book ...thanks alot I really do appreciate hope that your enjoying .... let dive into the most interesting chapter #lifejade the writer
