Lyra's scared of heights, instead of risking her life by escaping through the window. She deceived the security into believing she escaped.
The securities are after locating her whereabouts before Harrison figures out so they weren't in their post and this made it easy for Lyra to walk out of the mansion without being noticed.
Lyra took a cab to the hospital to find out how Elsa was fairing. She ran up to the receptionist when she got into the hospital.“Hello, how's my mother?”
“Name please?”
“Elsa Hart,” Lyra responded, breathing heavily.
“Take your seat, please. I will find the latest update about Mrs. Elsa.” the receptionist announced. The receptionist took a look at the Hospital Information System (HIS) to check Elsa's status.
Lyra paced back and forth, biting her fingers. Shortly, the receptionist walked up to her, “The patient is currently undergoing surgery. Be rest assured, our surgeons are taking good care of her.”
Sweat formed beads on Lyra's forehead as she rubbed her hands against each other. “Can I see her now?” Lyra became more restless.
“Of course not. Please be patient,” the receptionist said and went back to her post.
Lyra sat, meditating for a successful surgical outcome. Hours later, a nurse from the surgical team went to the reception. “Hart?”
Lyra hurriedly raced towards her “I'm Lyra Hart. What happened to my mum?”
“The surgery has been completed successfully and the patient is in a recovery state,” The nurse said.
That news lifted a burden from Lyra's chest, she jumped and clapped her hands in excitement, “Great.”
Her energy was boosted and she urged to see Elsa. “Can I?”
“Sure” the nurse answered and led her to Elsa's ward. Elsa was still unconscious and in a recovery phase.
“Mum” Lyra's eyes glinted with unshed tears as a radiant smile broke across her face.
Soft choked laughter escaped her lips as embraced Elsa's arm.
“I was scared that I might lose you,” Tears of joy slipped from Lyra's eyes.
After celebrating Elsa's freedom from ailments, Lyra fell asleep, her head on Elsa's bed.
Lyra suddenly jolted from her sleep and moved when she felt a touch on her head which was placed on Elsa's bed.
Lyra's lips curved upwards as she embraced Elsa. Elsa was awake, she sat up on the bed, “I'm sorry."
“For?” Lyra disengaged from the warm embrace and glued her eyes to Elsa.
“For all the troubles, you should be with your husband right now but here you are,” Elsa mentioned, staring at the wedding dress Lyra was still on.
Now, Lyra realized she was still in her wedding gown. A chuckle escaped from her stretched lips. “Forget that, let's talk about you. How do you feel?” She held Elsa's hand.
“Great, I've never felt so good in ages,” Elsa coughed, “Where's Piper? I knew she ran away.”
Lyra wanted to keep Piper's actions a secret but since Elsa had an idea of what was going on, it was of no use to hide the truth.
“I haven't heard from her yet. She's probably feeling guilty for being so selfish on her wedding day,” Lyra said, rubbing her hands on her body.
“That poor girl. I guess I've been so harsh on her and forcing her to do things,” Elsa paused, “Whatever you both do, remember I'm always proud of you.”
“I love you, Mum,” Lyra gently holds her hand.
“Will you get going now? It's getting dark,” Elsa chuckled pushing her daughter's hand away.
“Alright, I will check on you soon. Phone me if you need anything," Lyra said, stepping out of the ward. She didn't wish to leave but she knew Elsa would continue pestering her if she didn't leave.
The smile on Elsa's face flashed in her head, Elsa hadn't been that excited for ages.
Lyra took a cab to Monroe's mansion, she was getting uncomfortable in the wedding dress and she needed to change.
Lyra was trembling as she was seated in the back seat of the taxi. She didn't know how to deal with Harrison's questions or actions when she saw him.
Immediately the taxi halted at Monroe's mansion, and Lyra's heart started beating faster.
Lyra alighted from the vehicle and paid the taxi driver. She turned to walk into the mansion and suddenly, she jerked at the sight of Harrison.
Harrison folded his arms against his chest, waiting for Lyra at the door front. Lyra's heart raced faster like it would explode anytime soon.
Lyra looked away, pretending like she didn't see him. She slightly ducked her head and walked past him.
“Where are you coming from, woman?” Harrison's question caught her by surprise. He knew everything, he shouldn't make a mountain out of a molehill.
Lyra squeezed her eyes shut and gritted her teeth. She slowly turned around saying, “My mother, she was…” She got interrupted.
“What part of staying indoors don't you understand?” Harrison shouted, his face flushed.
Lyra's fist clenched into a tight ball, she didn't like the feeling of being controlled by an ordinary arrogant man.
“You are not my boss, Harrison. You have no right whatsoever to order me around,” Lyra shouted.
“Oh really? So can you fix the damages you caused? I supported you by paying your mother's surgical fees," Harrison shouted, pointing his finger at her.
“I'm very sure you can't gather that much money even with your 10,000 years of life savings,” he teased.
Lyra's brows knitted into a frown, “You didn't help me? It's a contract marriage, remember? Besides what damages are you talking about?” She became concerned about the damages.
“I don't have time to speak to a nobody. The next time you disobey me, I won't take things lightly with you,” Harrison shouted, walking out on her.
“So annoying,” Lyra grunted.
Lyra walked into her room to freshen up and change her outfits. A knock at her room door distracted her from admiring her reflection in the mirror.
“Ma'am, dinner is ready,” the Butler announced.
Lyra's face brightened, she had not had a good mean for some days now. She hurriedly out of her room, following the Butler to the dining hall.
The aromas of different delicacies hit her nose and it felt like she was in a food paradise.
Harrison's statement jerked her back to her senses “Eew, what are you wearing?” he asked. His brows furrowed and his mouth turned grim.
Lyra took a look at her outfit, She wore a long big dress and it looked good on her. “Why? Is there anything wrong with the dress color?”
Harrison's eyes caressed her, “I guess you are the problem. Why are you dressed like an old lady? At least show some skin. I can only see your annoying face.”
Lyra rolled her eyes, “I never dress to impress you. You should keep your preferences to yourself, I don't f*****g care.” she sat close to him and dug her hands into a pile of fried meats.
“Ugh! I can't dine with you. You are so disgusting. I lost my appetite,” Harrison spat, standing on his feet.
