Nice Figure

Ying Xia felt a sudden tightness in her chest, lowering her gaze to hide her emotions. "It's fine, let Lao Liu take me." "I've let Lao Liu leave work early." Well, fine. She took out her phone. "Then I'll just call a cab." Lu Jinchuan took the phone from her hand and slightly raised his chin towards a direction. Ying Xia followed his gaze and saw her grandmother watching them with a smile, eyes twinkling. Lu Jinchuan lowered his head slightly and leaned close to her ear, speaking in a low voice, "You're staying here tonight, we'll go to work together tomorrow." What work? She had already resigned, and he, as her boss, didn’t even know. But that made sense—she was just a small employee at the company after all. Looking at her grandmother's expectant face, Ying Xia hesitated for a moment before nodding slightly. They had shared the same bed for over two years, but now even being in the same room together felt difficult. Ying Xia listened to the sounds coming from the bathroom and felt restless. When Lu Jinchuan came out, towel in hand, wiping his hair, he saw Ying Xia sitting stiffly on the sofa, as obedient as a schoolgirl. He smirked, walked over to her, leaned against the table, and casually tossed the towel beside her. Ying Xia jumped, and as she looked up, she saw Lu Jinchuan in a bathrobe, the open collar revealing a broad chest, the tie loosely hanging, looking as if it could come undone at any moment. His hair wasn’t dry yet, and a few droplets of water fell from the tips, tracing down his cheek, chin, and throat, disappearing under the robe. She was going to die! It was so hard to look away from such a sight, and in fact, Ying Xia didn’t move her gaze. Soon, they were getting divorced, and such scenes would likely be rare. If she didn’t look now, she might never get to again. Lu Jinchuan chuckled softly, "Had enough of the view?" In the past, she was afraid of making him lose even a bit of weight—either pretending she hadn’t seen or making excuses to slip away to take a shower. But now, with the divorce coming, she seemed to have become more generous. "Mm, I’m good." Ying Xia walked over to the wardrobe, and after a moment of rummaging, she froze. The conservative sleepwear she had once kept was all gone, replaced by several sexy lace nightgowns. Other people would never do something like this; they’d probably want them to separate as soon as possible. There was only one possibility—it was her grandmother’s doing. Ying Xia couldn’t imagine how her eighty-something-year-old grandmother had obtained these lacy lingerie. Seeing her standing there for a while without moving, Lu Jinchuan walked over. "What’s wrong?" Ying Xia stepped aside and, with a calm expression, showed him the contents of the wardrobe. Lu Jinchuan lowered his gaze and said, "Don’t worry, I won’t have any thoughts about you." He pulled out a T-shirt from his own wardrobe and tossed it to her. When Ying Xia finished her shower and came out, Lu Jinchuan was nowhere to be seen. She dimmed the lights and climbed into bed. In a semi-conscious state, she felt a warm body press against hers, hot breath on her ear. She immediately woke up but didn’t dare to move. Luckily, the person behind her didn’t make any further moves, just lightly holding her. "Lu Jinchuan." Ying Xia whispered, but the person behind didn’t respond, as if asleep. She gently pulled his arm away, but it immediately wrapped around her again, a soft murmur of "Ru Yi" passing by her ear. She didn’t move again, letting him hold her, tears silently sliding down her cheeks to the pillow. She didn’t sleep a wink. The next morning, her eyes were slightly swollen and there were dark circles under her eyes. When Lu Jinchuan woke up and was getting dressed, his gaze lingered on her face for a while, a mocking or perhaps disdainful smile tugging at his lips. Ying Xia, afraid of revealing too much, didn’t even have breakfast and quickly got into the car to wait for him. When Lu Jinchuan got in, he tossed her a bread and a carton of milk. "Grandmother gave them to you." She held them without moving, turning to see her grandmother waving at her from the door, her face full of warmth. She probably wouldn’t see her again. Her eyes suddenly felt hot, and she forced a smile, waving back at her grandmother. "I’ll get off here." Ying Xia said, with two more intersections to go before the company. Lu Jinchuan tightened his jaw, and only after another intersection did he coldly say, "Stop." The driver immediately pressed the brake. His words always had more weight than hers. As Lu Jinchuan's car disappeared from view, Ying Xia turned and walked in the opposite direction. The boss was in a foul mood from the start, and no one dared to breathe a word in the office. Even the secretaries felt like they were walking on needles, tiptoeing over thick carpets. In the CEO’s office, Lu Jinchuan had his legs crossed on the coffee table, reclining against the sofa. When he heard a knock at the door, he didn’t even open his eyes. "Come in." Secretary Zhou Xin entered and stood by the sofa, bowing respectfully. "Mr. Lu, there’s a meeting in ten minutes, and this document requires your signature." Lu Jinchuan took the document and quickly scanned it before signing. Zhou Xin hesitated for a moment. "Mr. Lu, there’s one more thing I’m not sure if I should report... Mrs. Lu, or rather, Miss Ying has resigned." The pen stopped after writing "Lu." Lu Jinchuan raised his head. "When?" "Yesterday morning." Zhou Xin replied, sneaking a glance at the boss's expression. Being a secretary meant reading the room was an essential skill. Lu Jinchuan furrowed his brows slightly, his face showing a hint of impatience as his fingers tapped the desk. Yesterday? Yesterday, he had just brought up the divorce. Before, when they had come to the company together, neither had mentioned resignation. Where had she gone? Although she had the kind of temperament that meant she would leave the company after the divorce, he hadn’t expected her to do it so quickly. "I remember... isn’t there a one-month notice period for resignation?" Lu Jinchuan glanced at Zhou Xin, asking. Zhou Xin nodded. "That's right, but the HR Director, Mr. Li, knows about your relationship with Miss Ying, and when Miss Ying mentioned it, he didn’t dare to stop her." The secretary guessed that this Mr. Li had stirred up trouble. Lu Jinchuan took out his phone, and the first name in his contacts was Ying Xia. Before he could even tap her name, a call came in, the screen flashing with the name "Zhao Ru Yi." Lu Jinchuan answered quickly. "What’s going on?" Zhao Ru Yi’s voice was as soft and gentle as her name. "Jinchuan, are you at the company?" "Mm," Lu Jinchuan replied. "What’s up? Something wrong?" "It’s nothing, I tried calling you last night, but you didn’t answer..." A muffled sound came through the phone. Lu Jinchuan frowned. "What’s going on?"
