“My name,” the wolf said, pausing just long enough till he was sure that all our eyes were on him, “is Alpha Cassian Vale, and I am here to offer you all a warning.”
Silence descended as all air was instantly sucked out of the chamber.
You could have heard a needle drop with how silent it all got. Faces that had been intrigued just seconds ago had gone hard, their curiosity and disbelief twisted into confusion, and in the case of Roderick, rage.
