Ava came to slowly her body sore and her head pounding. She stayed still for a few moments trying to get her bearings. “Oh my head .” she grumbled. A groan came from beside her which made her freeze as the bed moved. She turned her head slowly in hopes not to startle the intruder. She came face to face with the last person she had expected to find in her bed. “What the hell are you doing in my bed. "she yelled as loud as her headache allowed her. The intruder sat up abruptly looking around before turning to look at her. “Ava?” he asked confused. “Zachary Lockhart what are you doing in my bed?” she yelled. “I don’t know ,what are you doing in bed with me?” Zach asked back confusion clear on his face. The events of the previous night came to her like a flood and she gasped. The heated kisses and touches the electric feeling they shared. Him hesitating when he discovered she was a virgin and her convincing him to continue. The passion and heights they reached again and again. And they kept their masks through the whole thing.  “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh ,oh my gosh.” She mumbled as she buried her face in her hands and let out a muffled scream. “It was you, your eyes were familiar but I was too tipsy to worry about it.” “Wait Rina! you are Rina? Where did you get that name?” “I could ask you the same Ezekiel. " Ava snapped. “You know what that don’t matter because this never happened. " “Wait you were a virgin?” Zach asked not ready to go. “What’s it to you? Now get dressed and get out this never happened do you understand ?” “No let’s talk about this first.” Zach said.”I can’t believe you were a virgin.” He mumbled to himself. “no last night was a one time mistake it will never happen again.” Ava went around the room picking up her clothes, getting dressed and tiding up. “A mistake! if I remember correctly you called it a night to remember and a phenomenal experience. "he argued. “It was but you still have to go.” she spoke still not looking at him which made him angry. “No I’m not leaving we just had an amazing night and you called it a mistake.” Zach yelled causing Ava to flinch and stop what she was doing. Ava let out a sigh and her shoulders dropped in defeat, she turned to face Zach who was standing with a sheet wrapped around his waist. His firm chest was out on display and she flushed remembering how she ran her fingers over it. “I’m sorry Zach it was not a mistake I had a phenomenal time like you said but with Zeke. "she spoke looking into his eyes trying to get him to understand. “You are my boss and I will see you everyday it will be awkward and I don’t want that. Yesterday I was tipsy and angry I just wanted a night to let go." Zach saw the  vulnerable look on her face and he cooled down. She was always so put together and hardcore but right now her defenses were down. He sat back down and let out a deep breath finally understanding what Ava meant. “You are right ,I’m sorry for being stubborn, I get what you are saying. I’ll just get dressed and leave.” “Thanks I will leave you to it I’m going to the kitchen you will need something for your hangover. “ Ava said then walked out. Zach picked up his clothes and decided to shower than walk around stinking. He chuckled to himself when he found green apple scented shampoo and body wash. “I’m going to walk around smelling like a damn fruit.” He mumbled to his self. He found Ava in the kitchen busy cooking at the stove in sweats and a tank top her hair tied in a messy bun on top of her head. She was humming  oblivious to his presence. That was not the ice princess he knew, she looked like a normal girl. “Never took you for the cooking type.” He spoke up causing her to jump and squeal in shock. “Don’t scare me like that almost made me burn myself.” She yelled but he just smirked. “My bad.” He said sitting down at the kitchen island. He looked around at the small but homey cottage which was messy again unlike the Ava he knew. He had expected to be prim n prestine like her office. Ava place a plate of scrabbled eggs ,bacon and toast with a cup of coffee in front of him. She took her own and sat opposite him quietly eating her food. Zach ate his food with his eyes on her the whole time. He was intrigued by Ava right now, gone was the prim and proper woman replaced by a normal down to earth girl. As if sensing his eyes on her she looked up to find him still staring. “What is it? Is there something on my face?” Ava asked wiping her face trying to find the cause of the stare. Zach’s cheeks warmed up a bit from being caught staring. He cleared his throat  and mumbled nothing then looked to his plate. He decided he needed to leave very soon because Ava was making him weird. He never blushed. The rest of the food was eaten in complete silence with them trying to avoid awkward conversation. After Zach offered to do  the dishes which Ava argued against. They then agreed to do them together because no one was willing to back down. “ Are you friends with the Castillo’s daughter?” Zach asked when they were sitting waiting for his driver to come fetch him. “What ? Why would you say that?” a panicky Ava asked. “Well yesterday you said your friend owned the cottage and this is the Castillo’s property. Unless you are friends with her parents." Zach unaware of Ava’s anxiousness continued. “Yeah you could say that we are close.” Ava asked wanting to end the topic. “Really ,you know I have never seen her or even know her name?” Zach said. “She is a very very private person  and would not appreciate me talking about her.” Ava said frustrated because Zach looked like he wanted to keep asking. Just as he opened his mouth to ask again his phone rang and Ava let out a breath of relief. “Well this is goodbye.” Zach said as he stood by the door with Ava. “Yes it is.” Ava gave him a small smile. Zach reached out to tuck a stray lock of hair behind her ear like he did yesterday. His eyes held confusion and another emotion she could not recognize. “Good bye Rina.” Zach whispered and then kissed her cheek were his lips stayed a little longer than required. “Goodbye Zeke.” Ava whispered back looking into his eyes and giving him another small smile. Zach smiled back then opened the door and left. “Goodbye Zeke.” Ava whispered to her self as she leaned against the door. She let out a heavy breath shook herself and got up to get through her Sunday.
