Chapter Forty Six

*** “You have to admit though, brother, that that was epic as f**k! I mean, she seems to have some sort of vendetta against Cars but I don’t mind watching her wreck every single one of them for that damn show. The looks on their faces always gets me!” Diesel released a loud laugh, seemingly genuinely amused as he gestured at the security footage of the attack. Despite my tongue lashing at him giving my wife my itinerary, the Sin of Greed was not in the least bit affected by my words or threats of dismemberment. He had, on the contrary, been watching the video on loop with an equally amused Christian and a silent Kenji who for a moment, seemed impressed before he restored the cold countenance he always beheld. My brothers were not siding with me but with my beloved and devious wife. Heck, even f*****g Rowan thinks she’s incredible... It was not that I was not in awe of my wife’s quick wit and devious mind. I was more excited than I probably should be considering how close she actually came to killing me. My gut strikes again. I knew she would be the perfect Mrs. Alexander but even she is exceeding my expectations. “The fact that she used Diesel to leverage sensitive information such as your day to day patterns and your itinerary is quite smart but not as impactful as showing you that she could destroy you wherever you are, no matter what. A worthy opponent indeed.” Kenji praised, his words bringing a wide grin to my lips as I nodded a little too enthusiastically than I probably should. I can’t help the thrill that overcame me after the settling of my Demons. Now I wanted to push my woman, to urge her to continue to show me her fangs. “Well, she just proved again why she is the badass Queen of Sin! Ah hell, how I wish I had been there for the garage incident. Were it not for these stupid and boring board meetings.” Christian rolled his eyes Hard, showcasing just how much he disliked the meetings he was subjected to. That’s not to say we did not attend the board meetings. Kenji, Diesel and I as well as the other Sins were shareholders and we were their representing force. A reminder to the puppets sitting around that conference table exactly who owned the company that had made them millions of dollars and the power we beheld. Christian had, however, taken a big bulk of the responsibility as his abilities matched up the vision we had for Septem. It was a small step into the light, a way to mask our true fortune which was quite extensive. Christian is a big reason behind our success. His brilliance was certainly not wasted, especially once granted the seemingly gigantic task of building our company from the ground up. Good thing he likes challenges or our investments would not have become the Empire we have now, the skyscraper we were now in that housed our offices. Each of the Sins had their own despite rarely making appearances. We were now in mine. “Your sacrifice was not in vain, brother. I have security camera footage on every single angle. We can replay it however many times we want and however long.” Diesel declared with a wide, mischievous grin as the two hi-fived the news like this was some sort of movie. Kenji chuckled at their enthusiasm whereas I rolled my eyes at their antics. “I can’t wait to see what she does next. Sis in law is clearly a genius and definitely prepared to go to whatever lengths it takes to end Wrath.” The very thought made me shiver, not because of my brother’s sinister grin but due to excitement. “What will you do, brother? How do you intend to retaliate? I heard she made you catch a ride with that Irish bastard back into town. That must have been deliciously awful.” Diesel declared, clapping his hands in excitement despite his words. A natural response that many of us were used to by now but Christian's secretary who frowned slightly as she placed our coffer cups in place before disappearing as ordered so. No one was allowed in the room when we all met. Unless it was absolutely necessary... “I really need to hear the story behind all this hate you have for Rowan. I mean he seems like a cool enough dude.” Christian muttered, earning himself a murderous glare from our brother that instantly had him raising his hands in surrender. Getting on Diesel’s bad side almost always meant evading death until his grudge was settled. The man was relentless when he hunted. “Trust me, I plan to punish my wife accordingly. You will all just have to sit and wait.” I could not reveal my plans just yet. My retaliation would come but never in the way that my brothers would quite expect. This was a little more personal between Emilia and I. She’s going to be mad as hell...the very thought made me grin wide. “That is almost always a really bad sign.” Kenji muttered, earning nods from the guys before we each turned to the sudden knock on the door. Frowning, Christian called for his secretary to enter. She knew better than to interrupt us. “I’m sorry, Mr Alexander but there is a man here who insists that he must see you. I tried to explain that your schedule is full at the moment but...” “Alright, sweetheart. I’ll take it from here.” The voice was cold, detached and reminiscent of one I had heard before. The accent gave it away instantly but not as much as when the man behind it stepped into the room. He was flanked by two burly men who looked just as lethal as their boss who granted us a broad, sinister grin. “Thank you, darling. You may go now.” Christian was quick to dismiss his secretary who did not need to be told twice to flee. Her fight or flight instincts had already kicked in amidst all the dangerous men in the room. And it will yet save her life... The door shut, leaving us with the Heir to one of the legacy families in the underworld. The man soon to lead one of the oldest Mafia’s in the world. Our newest opponent. The Triad. ***
