Chapter Sixteen

1570 Words
*** "Wow... well, the award for biggest asshole certainly goes to you, brother." Christian muttered, a chuckle escaping his lips at my glare. He was not fazed by my sour mood or my silent threats. The two of us had been through enough to have such a close connection. Only the sins could give me s**t like that and get away with it. Kenji rolled his eyes at Christian's antics but said nothing to defend me. I knew well enough that he was not pleased by my initiative, but I could not give two shits about their opinion. Not this time and not on this. Seeing the CCTV footage had made my blood boil and my anger so potent, I longed to wring the bastard's neck and destroy every facet of his existence. The psychopathic side of me won out, though. The petty side of me that wanted to teach my beautiful wife a lesson on not f*****g playing with me. She had lied. He had made her lie-not directly but close enough- to protect him and that annoyed the absolute hell out of me. He would suffer under my hand but she needed to be present for this m******e. She needed to learn the intricacies of my world. "Shut the hell up," I growled, earning yet another amused chuckle from Christian, while the guards who were currently doing clean up flinched at the sound of my voice and the tenacity behind it. They knew enough the product of my rage was lethal. The evidence of the same was right there on the white, Parisian rug and the dead body they were currently disposing of. He was one of their own. His death had passed a clear cut message not to touch my wife or think that they are indisposable. The dead man was, after all, one of the leaders of my divisions. "I can't f*****g believe she did that, though. You were right, brother. She has madness in her soul. I sensed something dark in her that resonated with my demons. I wonder whether my own spitfire has secrets to reveal. A part of her that is as dark as me." Diesel palmed his c*ck, his eyes flashing with the insanity that we were all familiar with as he drifted into memories of his newest obsession. Part of me felt sorry for my wife's best friend. Capturing Diesel's attention was hard as hell but once he latched on, he never stopped. Not until his obesession was satisfied. And that was almost always a bad sign. "That's a pipe dream, brother. Nobody is as crazy as you are." Christian dodged Diesel's playful punch as the two laughed and nodded in absolute agreement. The two looked like a bunch of crazy assholes and I found myself fighting a smile as I watched them. My mind drifted to the fire that burned bright in her eyes. She was ready to fight me with everything she has. And that made me more excited than I have ever been in my life about anything. "She is certainly unique. As are her three conditions. I know talking the two of you out of it is a futile endeavor. Will you fulfill the conditions she has set?" Kenji spoke up for the first time since my furious wife left the room after declaring she would end my life. She had looked so f*****g beautiful whilst doing it. I wanted to take her against every single corner of this room, my brothers be damned. I wanted to reward her for letting her madness in, for embracing the darkness. "They are within reason. I see no reason not to follow through if it will achieve what I need of her." Kenji released a small sigh, showcasing a look I knew all too well. "Do you think its wise to get into fight with your wife? Especially now that the Russians and the Vipers are on the move. A fight with the two and your wife would be unwise. You cannot afford to be unsettled right now." The eye twitch was the first true sign of emotion he showcased as he raised a brow at my nonchalant shrug and wide smirk. "You know well enough that I can handle myself, brother. That has never been in question and it won't be now just because my wife has come into the fray and joined the long list of individuals who want my head. I welcome the challenge." "Do not underestimate her, brother. That will be a mistake that will cost you. She may be an enigma to all of us but that is what makes her more dangerous." Kenji stated, a knowing look on his features. He was the most observant of us all, his eyes showcasing a fascination for my wife. He had seen the same thing we all had, maybe more but I would not be swayed. I wanted-needed-to see what she's got. I had a good feeling about all this. She might be the person I have been waiting for for so long. "He doesn't mind the danger. He thrives off of it. We all do. Don't pretend you are not just as excited for what is to come, brother. Put your sin aside for a single moment and embrace the war that is about to break out." Christian's grin was unhinged and would have terrified many. It was a look he had never granted any of the executives he managed. No, he maintained a certain persona for them. A mask that never faltered or broke, no matter the scenario presented. It was impressive indeed but that was expected of the true prodigy that he was. Kenji shook his head, a smile playing on his lips as he settled into his seat. He now looked menacing, a true representation of the monster that he actually was. I felt sorry for all who declared themselves our enemies. They would be met by the full force of the Sins and none would survive the onslaught to come. "I can't deny that the prospect of a good fight does not excite me. What shall we do about the Vipers who attacked the Division 6 warehouse? We have lost a sizeable shipment of weapons that were to be sold to the Irish. Rowan Byrne will not be pleased if we delay on delivery, especially with the war brewing between them and the Polish." Kenji was right, as always. Strategy came first. Plans had to be made to counter any form of insurrection. "He has no f*****g choice but to behave. We rule these streets. Whether we delay a shipment by a day or the whole f*****g year is for us to decide." Diesel declared, rolling his eyes at the mention of the Irish Don. The two had never seen eye to eye and with good reason. A dark reason that only I was privy to. "I agree that we our authority is absolute. There is no doubt about that. We must, however, ensure that we do not create even more enemies for ourselves. Let us keep them happy in the time being. Have Division 11 release the emergency weapon supply we store for rainy days. Let them prepare the same shipment we were supposed to deliver." Kenji nodded, agreeing with the plan wholeheartedly as he pulled out his phone to order the same to be done. "We also have questioning to do. I don't believe it was a coincidence that they attacked the warehouse that contains the most urgent shipment we need to release. We have a rat, brothers, and we must destroy them. Crush them before they multiply and take us out from within." I declared, clenching my fist at that particular prospect. The Vipers were not playing nice, as expected. They had managed to find a weakling within our ranks. They had turned them. It will be the first and last-worst mistake they have ever made. Anyone who stands against us will suffer my Wrath. "Your wish is my command, brother. I will bring you their heads!" Diesel declared, grinning wide as he cracked his knuckles, excited at the prospect of bringing pain and despair to those who dared oppose us. I knew I could leave it to him. He would bring results, even more than I could ever expect. "I guess that leaves me to ensure we have enough resources to venture into battle?" Christian stated, frowning at Diesel who laughed in his face and declared his task 'boring and stupid'. The two playfully shoved at each other, earning a roll of the eye from Kenji even as he communicated with the Division heads. "Yes, Christian. You all have your tasks. Let's wipe them from the face of this Earth. Let us remind everyone exactly what position we hold in this world. May they cower in fear and tremble at the very mention of the Sins." I declared, resolve filling me at the prospect of raging into the battlefield. None of them were ready for the clash that was about to be enacted. It would be legendary, worthy of going down in the history books. "Agreed, brother. Make sure you stay alive long enough to lead us into battle, though." Christian stated, laughing at my frown. He was right, though. My wife's tenacity would prove to be my end... Oh how I can't f*****g wait... ***
