Seven years later…
Matthew and I are both doing our residency at the hospital my uncle Brad built. When we are licensed, he will hand over pediatric care to us. Cynthia is our mentor and is currently running the pediatric unit. It’s been a long road but having Matthew by my side has made it easier.
We have decided to start building our family, and I know I can do this. I can be a working mom. Millions of women have done it before me, and I have a brilliant support structure. Matthew’s parents built a house for us on their property. They wanted to be able to help us as much as they could once the babies arrived.
And having my parents a few doors away is a bonus. I am now in my third trimester, and no surprise, I am having twins. Matthew is very supportive, but very paranoid. I
