Alta arrived at school earlier than expected but it was perfect in order for her to reappear before anyone’s wandering eyes could see. Waving her hand by her side, the doors to the school unlocked and she slipped inside. She had plans to figure out all she could about the teacher before he could surprise her again. Once more she let her mind reach trying to find him, and once more she came away from her search frustrated that she could not find what she was looking for. Waltzing along the hallway, not caring if she looked human or not, she arrived at the door that changed her world. She felt a thrum deep inside her that she could not control. She almost felt as though he was there right through the door, but when she listened closer, she found emptiness. With a feather light touch, the door opened into her hand. Moving too quickly, she slammed into a thick chest and arms, sending the person backwards into the row of desks. As though she had been electrified, her body stilled and her breathing stopped. Not only was she not supposed to be in here, but she just ran once more into the mystery teacher.
No one was supposed to be behind the door. How had she missed him?! Her mind was asking a million questions at once, while her exterior was icy and rigid. His warmth reached her from a foot away and her lips parted with a gasp. He visibly jerked forward to her and groaned. Before either could stop, their hands were roaming each other, trying to find the tether to the pull they both felt. Atla breathed in deeply, unable to help feeling intoxicated by him. He had more self control this go around. He pulled away, leaving her wanting to look into her eyes. She was captivated by the dark pools of blue that searched her for answers. “What are you doing here?”, without really meaning to the words came from him in a whisper. Unable to stop herself, she replied, “Looking for you”. She knew that it was the right answer when he closed his eyes for a second longer than he should, his shoulders sagging a touch. Using her full name, he spoke, “Atla Zigli, my name is Mr. Lafae and since I am a teacher at your school, this is completely inappropriate.”
Her head dipped under the weight of his words, but when his finger was under her chin lifting her to meet his eyes, she knew that what he was saying he wasn’t believing himself. He whispered more to himself than anyone, “Mason.” Her breathing hitched as a small moan escaped her lips, which soon echoed in him. She could feel his heart thumping against his chest. She knew nothing could happen here at Silk Haven. She respected that, so she gracefully flipped her hair off her shoulder, demanded his phone and punched the 10 digits in. She called her own phone, breaking the silence, as she listened to her breathing slow she heard his stay at a steady speed. She looked up through her lashes at his jawline, which looked like it was cut from granite. He had thick eyebrows above his sapphire eyes. One side of his mouth picked up in a smile, causing her heart to go racing again. He tilted his head to the side as a giggle escaped her lips. His eyes scanned her face, his expression hard to read, a first for Atla.
When he spoke again she jumped, “Atlani, please allow me to escort you to your locker, to stay with you even a moment longer.” She had not realized that the halls had begun to bustle with the busy morning energy. She nodded once, gazing at him from her perch on the desk above him. Her voice leapt from her throat, startling them both as she yelped “Wait!” Her right foot reached out to swing the door shut, while nothing serious could happen at Silk Haven, things could almost happen, with the door shut she grabbed the sides of his face pulling him in close until she could feel his breath on her neck and smell the shampoo he used. “Mason, I need you.” she spoke lightly into his neck, causing him to throw his head back and groan in agreeance. She pressed her mouth to the base of his throat and inhaled once more before twirling away from him. She was at her locker before he could catch his next breath.
She chuckled and pulled her BFF into the closest empty space. She had to tell someone and while Selina liked to talk she would never deliberately say anything to hurt Atla. Which made her think she could tell Selina more than just that she has the hots for teacher, but that was a conversation for a totally different time. As she started telling Selina what had transpired over the past two days Selina oooh’d and ahhh’d in all the right places, not being able to contain herself at today’s development. She squealed as the 8AM bell rang. Selina turned to walk down the hall to her first period class, and called to Atla, “I want even more details later!!”
Running off to class, the girls could not wait until the last bell of the day rang, allowing them to leave. But the day dragged unlike any day before, this Tuesday could not move any slower. Alta played with her hair, daydreaming about her Mason. Hmm, her Mason she liked the sound of that. Wanting to test the name on her tongue, she said it slowly, softly to herself, causing a radiating smile to break out onto her face. The people around her were feeling the effects, the entire school was in a good mood. Her mood spilled out into town, where Tarani began to feel its effects. Her spirit was lifted quickly, which led her to be suspicious. Her thoughts reached out to find her sister, to probe for what caused the sudden onset of happiness. When Tarani reached into Alta’s brain she quickly removed herself, not because of what she had seen but because, did it matter why her sister was happy? Those days were far between sometimes, so looking into Alta’s mind was not necessary. Tarani thought into the air, you get off the hook this time for whatever it is you did. I just want to see that smile. Hoping that she had made the right choice, she tried to focus on work instead of worrying about her jovial little sister.
Mason was feeling the effects of Alta’s happiness too, without knowing that it was her he was feeling. He sent her a text in the middle of 6th period saying, “4pm sharp at this address: 3856 E Riverstone Way.” When she received it her stomach dropped to the floor. The link between them was earth shattering, she couldn’t pass the room without being lured in. Her insides were jumping up and down when the final bell rang and she was able to race out of the doors. With a wink, Mason caught her eye as he climbed into his lifted grey Ford F350. Her heart was melting and it was only day 2. Reminding herself to be careful, and sending the address to Selina, she disappeared into the clouds to feel as deeply as she could.
Atlani was soaring. She had never felt anything as deeply as the desire she was currently feeling. She could feel the pull of him even from the clouds. She wanted to feel his arms around her, to take in the smell of his skin. More than that, she wanted to know everything there was to know about Mason LaFae. In her delight she had become quite unobservant to those around her. She hadn’t realized that her happiness was spreading through the town like rapid fire. Not that she wanted to stop it, but she hoped just for a second that it hadn’t reached Tarani. The last thing she needed was Tarani breathing down her neck or snooping through her consciousness for answers to the questions she didn’t want to ask. Crossing her fingers, she began to feel her way to the address Mason had texted her. Of course, it wasn’t hard, since she could swear there was an invisible rope connecting the two. Making sure she had the right place, Atla made sure to return her body to normal at the edge of the trees to not draw suspicion on herself. Although she was about to walk into a teacher’s house, that was suspicious enough. For a moment her confidence wavered, faltering her step she thought about how delusional she must be to go walking into her teacher's home. Mason must have felt her coming because he opened the door and looked straight into her. His eyes piercing her own, she felt herself drowning in the deep pools of blue and moved into the house without another thought.
Once inside, it was not long before Mason had her hair down from the pins that kept it perched on her head, and his lips against the sensitive skin of her neck. A warm breath left his lips, causing her to shiver as she wrapped her arms around his tall frame. Atla’s nerves were thrumming, it took all of her strength to not run her hands along the hard lines of his body. She took this moment to really take him in without the worry of prying eyes seeing things they should not.
He was significantly taller than her, 6’ 4” to be exact. Her brain quickly made calculations and took inventory of his physique. He had to be a Greek god or a trick playing on her eyes. There was no way she had an inexplicable connection with someone who looked like this. She sent a silent thank you that she was already 18. His eyes ravished over her the blue charging with delight. Growing lighter, the blue made his skin look even more tan and taut than before. Skin straining to contain the muscles that lie beneath. He was the perfect male. His hair is just long enough to need to be pushed out of his eyes. She couldn’t help herself at that moment from closing the small gap, pressing the length of her body to his to reach up and brush the coarse tendrils out of his face. Closing his eyes and leaning into her touch, she felt a rush of power. She had this effect on him, that powerful feeling rushed through her veins, making her brave. She slowly rested her hand on his cheek, her thumb brushing over the soft skin there. She was drowning again as he opened his eyes.
He took a moment to get lost in the bright amber irises shining at him. He could tell there was something quite different about her, but he was as much at a loss as she was. Looking over the cinnamon sprinkling her nose, he took a deep breath and leaned in, forcing the knot in his stomach to go away so he could kiss her. He had never wanted anything more than to feel her lush mouth against his, hoping for the same electric feeling he got when he touched anywhere else on her. Her curves hugged around him, she tilted her head back and allowed her lips to touch his.
Recognizing her need, he fisted her hair, holding her close to him as their tongues danced around one another. He moaned into her mouth, causing her to dig her nails deliciously into his sides. Knowing she was marking him, she dug them a little deeper hoping that he would know this was her staking her claim. Somehow, the kiss seemed to last for a lifetime. When they broke from one another, the lust in the air was tangible. Taking deep breaths, she took a half step back realizing she had hiked her leg up to wrap around him, effectively trapping him against the wall. Alta unraveled herself and took his hand, surprisingly calm after the heated moment. She could see in his eyes that his desire was overwhelming and she had to try hard not take deep breaths, since she could smell arousal pouring off of him. For a moment she wanted to let her control slip, let him have his way with her. Deciding against it, she led him to the closest room, moving around the counter to put some distance between them. She wanted answers and ripping his clothes off with her teeth wasn’t going to allow her to get them.
“Mind if I have a glass of water? I suddenly find myself parched.” Her voice rippled through the air.
He moved around his kitchen, eyes never leaving hers to get her a glass of water. Walking over to her, she could feel his raw need. She shivered. Taking a drink, she licked her lips to free them from droplets, deciding too late that it was not a smart choice, his growl rumbled deep in his chest, threatening their control.
She took the opportunity to speak again. “So Mason LaFae, have you come into my world to royally f**k it up or do you have a specific purpose?”
Shocking him with her words, he replied, “Atlani, I plan to f**k it up, of course.” He met her eyes with a steady gaze. She realized that this was not a game she could simply walk away from, she was playing, like it or not. His voice was husky and wrapped around her like a blanket.
Reaching for her hand, he looked deeply at her. He burst into words, “It seems as though I have known you my whole life, when in fact I think it has been 24 hours. How is that possible? You feel it too, I know you do.”
Atlani's blush was her answer, words not needed with him. He took that moment to move the flyaway strands out of her butterscotch-colored eyes. Which shone brightly, she smiled and nuzzled deeply into his palm. He had never felt such an adoration for someone. Deep down he was slightly worried about the oddities he saw in her, but it was part of what made her so captivating. He watched as her eyes closed softly and she offered up her lips to his, hoping to be kissed again. He quickly obliged, pressing his mouth to hers and feeling a spark as her tongue licked the length of his lips. Moaning in appreciation, her hands deftly found the hem of his shirt. Moving with inhuman speed, she tore it off and had him pinned against the pale blue wall. Using a bit too much force, she winced as she realized there would be a Mason-sized dent in the wall when they broke away. Compelling herself to take a breath and move slower, she could feel his body absorbing the shock and adjusting to have her fit right against him. Their lips had stayed connected but Alta knew she had to break the bond so she could figure out why the hell he affected her this way.
His hands had circled around her waist, feeling the delicate skin that was right above the band of her jeans. Throwing her head back, she nearly said screw it, but quickly placed her hand out to his chest to stop their actions from becoming more. No matter how much her body tightened in response to his pull, she needed to figure out how he could be doing this to her.
Breathing hard, she took his hand and led him through the kitchen and hallway into his living room to the couch. Her mind made a mental map of his house and belongings so that she could think hard about it all later. For now she sat him down and sat beside him, not before she saw his disappointment that she hadn’t decided her seat should be atop him. Her lungs grew greedy for air, so she took a few calming breaths before deciding that before anything else happened they really needed to talk.
