"Well, that was something." Rahni whispered to her nameless friend.
He merely glanced at the Prime Surveyor. The Second Sage was already scribbling furiously, recording his impressions while they were still fresh. Even if his Master was not here, he would want to know what had transpired, in as much detail as possible. Rahni scoffed at him. "Unbelievable. Fine. Keep your head in your book. I'm going to go see Aldontis." The Second Sage shot her a warning glance.
"Don't worry, I'll behave myself." She said, flashing her pointed teeth in a cheeky grin as she vaulted over the railing into the main section of the Conclave hall where others had started to migrate to, talking among themselves.
"Take notes for me. Did their experience differ at all?" He instructed.
She poked her tongue out at him.
"Fat chance Blockhead, that's your job!"
Apparently giving up your name also meant giving up your sence of fun.
Rahni immediately spied Aldontis, and ducked around the legs of some of the taller delegates to get to him.
"Hey, watch where you're walking, giant!" She yelled up at him with a toothy smile.
The Elf prince smiled lazily and looked around before finally meeting her eyes.
"Oh, sorry, didn't see you down there."
The two laughed and he picked her up in a warm embrace.
"Where's" He paused for a moment, "Our friend?" He asked. They would never say his name, but they would remember it. Rahni rolled her eyes and pointed back in the direction of the Drakyran sanctum.
"Where do you think? You can take the Sage out of the library but..."
Aldontis chuckled. "Indeed. Come, I'll introduce you to some friends."
He lifted the tiny woman up so she could sit on one board shoulder as he wound his way through the crush of bodies.
"Riding in style!" She laughed as she rested and elbow on his head crossed her legs.
Aldontis and Rahni made the rounds, and despite what she had told her friend, everyone was talking about the experience, and she couldn't help but take notes. The some of the differences seemed to be be based on race. Some of the Fae had even seen images, and she couldn't help but wonder if they aligned with whatever it was Aldontis's mother saw originally. It must have been pretty disturbing because the royal couple had left pretty abruptly afterwards.
The Zral couldn't seem yo agree on what they'd felt at all, but she supposed some of that could be based on their clade. A Rabbit would have a far different view of fear than a fox.
Despite their earlier reticence the Dwarves seemed the least effected and were joking and laughing with their compatriots.
Rahni used her elbow, still resting like an ungainly hat on the head of the Elf prince, to direct him towards the Dragons balcony. None of the Dragons had joined them on the floor, but as they approached the little silvery dragon slipped away and changed form to meet them. He turned them quickly away, clearly hoping his father wouldn't notice his absence. Which they all knew was highly unlikely.
Xeokat and Aldontis grasped one another's arm as brothers.
Ragni cleared her throat roughly. "Ahem!?"
"Hello, littlest sister," Xeokat said with a wink as he reached over and flicked her flight goggles down over her face.
She sighed in mock frustration.
"I swear you guys exist just to pick on me!" Her pupils dilated in her large yellow eyes, giving her the air of a small kitten.
The Dragonet laughed and bowed, offering a very insincere apology.
"Sage busy?" He asked with a quirk of his eyebrow.
They both nodded, and Rahni tried to pretend it didn't bother her at all. She was proud of her friend. She really was. But she wished he didn't have to give up everything he was to be who he wanted to be. But the trio headed towards the Drakyran Sanctum where the feathered quill of their mutual friend still moved frenetically across rapidly turning pages.
Aldontis unceremoniously plonked her on the railing and the two tall ones leant against it, bringing them all to the same height.
"Well?" the Sage asked expectantly. He already knew she would bring him thr information he asked.
