I don't hate showbiz but I definitely hate people. I have been doing this thing for over a decade now and it hasn't gotten any easier. To the outside world I'm Rex the notorious bad boy of the music industry. My songs top charts and my movies have broken records but in moments like this where my anxiety is out of hand and I'm hiding away from everyone I'm just the kid trying to make a name for himself again. I took a long drag from my cigarette as Justin walked towards me. I always wanted to look more like Justin he's your classic heartthrob type tall broad and handsome and well I'm not. I'm tall for sure but I'm also lanky and awkward looking. Dark brown hair, normal blue eyes and I'm pretty sure that I glow in the dark.
"Hey Ty, how are you doing?"
"Not bad just over the crowd you know."
"I feel you but hey they all love you man."
"Guess so."
"No guess to it. So how are you and Brittany doing?"
God that's a hard one to answer. Brittany or Brit is my on again off again fiance. We've been together kinda for the past 3 years at first I thought she was my soulmate but recently I'm really starting to doubt that. Everything she says and does is to get attention from the public. Everything has a motive and she only shows them the fake her and I'm pretty sure I don't even know the real her.
"The same as last week man. I really think I'm done this time. What about you man how are things going with that make-up artist?"
"Pretty good actually. She's great man and she's actually here tonight if you want to meet her."
"If she's cool with it I wouldn't mind. I've only been hearing you talk about her for months now."
"Alright let me text her real quick."
He had a big goofy smile on his face as he looked at his phone. I wish I had that every time my phone dings now I'm nervous and worried that there's going to be another fight. I had just finished up a project with Justin, a song and music video. I had agreed to do it as a way to take my mind off my problems and maybe feel like myself again but now that it was done I was getting nervous again. I was worried about it flopping and I was worried about being judged and also worried that Brit would lie to media again and say it was a song for her. She has done that with the last 4 songs I have released and yeah I could have set things straight but ultimately it was less stress to just not say anything about it. We've been broken up for about 2 months now and honestly I don't think we'll get back together. Justin is talking on his phone now and pacing back and forth. As he gets closer I can hear him
"no no nothing like that is going to happen....... no not at all...... I'm fixing to head that way....... hey hey calm down she'll be fine..... no we'll figure it out.... bye I love you."
"What's up?"
"I'm not exactly sure. Something about a girl being drugged. Hilly's friend got her to one of the private rooms before anything happened but Hilly's friend is worried about getting in trouble with her manager so I'm going to head that way and help her out."
"Let's go then."
"Are you sure Ty?"
"Yeah definitely sounds better than this."
He chuckled as we headed back into the club. The volume of the music was drowning out any possiblity of conversation as we headed off to the side of the bar where the door leading to the private rooms was. I couldn't quite make out the conversation as we got closer to the room with staff going in and out of it. But once we stepped inside it was obvious that the situation was tense. There was a small blond hugging a trash can as a curvy woman with dark hair told her to just drink the damn water and keep drinking. Standing just to the side was was the girl with black and green hair that I knew had to be Hilly. Justin had talked about her nonstop and was completely in love with her. She turned and hugged Justin and quickly recapped what happened. Apparently the blond chick was all over the place and not making sense and Hilly's friend Lexi had realized something was wrong with her and dragged her to a private room but she didn't want to be involved with calling the cops. It's what Justin said next that changed everything.
"Look I know how she is and I know you don't want any part of this but we have to get her at least to the hospital?"
"Just let us call Meg and tell her."
"We are not calling Meg!"
As I said it the curvy woman in front of me spun around and looked up at me. I had never been left breathless with just one look but in that moment I was. Her big green eyes were something amazing and I didn't want to look away.
"Yeah we aren't calling her. Not a chance in hell."
Her voice was just as amazing as her eyes. Looking at Justin I figured it out.
"How about this Justin, you and Hilly take her to the hospital and once you get there tell them that you think she was drugged and see if they want to call and I'll get..."
"Lexi."
"Lexi here a taxi home. How's that sound?"
The two women looked at each other Hilly shook her head and sighed and Lexi smiled real big before she said
"That sounds like a great plan let's go."
I grabbed her hand and headed toward the front door. As we stepped out side I debated on waving down a taxi but then I looked back at her and the black dress she was wearing hugged all the right spots and I changed my mind. Looking at her I took a deep breath and asked
"Instead of catching a taxi home how would you feel about going up to my room with me?"
"I think that sounds like a whole lot more fun."
"What's the worst that could happen?"
