George
Leaving Jonathan at the restaurant that afternoon he had expected the older CEO to at least follow him around either asking for an explanation but the man had done neither of those things leaving him a little perplexed. This was a man whose business was on the verge of bankruptcy and had just gotten his source of salvation pulled from under his feet. He should be running around asking for help from other businesses, George had made a few calls to his partners and none of them had spoken to Jonathan in the last week. He could not help but wonder if he had looked for Brandon but he remembered his husband had no way to communicated with them.
He had lost his phone back when he had almost drowned which then led him to conclusion that Jonathan had probably turned to illegal means to acquire funds. That was not his problem anyway, maybe his end would come faster and more painful if he got into legal battles and he would not need to lift a hand to deal with him.
One evening in the office feeling the urge to talk to Brandon was when he realized he had no means to get in touch with him. His husband did not own a phone, he had not asked for one either instead he looked contented being isolated from the world. He had realized pretty earlier on that Brandon was an introvert, he could stay home by himself all day and did not raise any complains.
What he had noticed was his keenness to the current news and his bad lying, the man could not lie to save his life. George had asked for his school schedule but the amount of excuses that had followed that request were too many to count and too outrageous to believe. The thing is George did not call him out on his lies, for a week he played a fool just to see what Brandon would say, it was funny. George had almost given himself away the first couple of time but soon after he would dismiss Brandon and go laugh in his room.
George taught at University T part time and guess what department he worked at, if you guessed Business you would be absolutely right. That was where he had first noticed Brandon, they had not had any interactions though because he taught the senior class only. George had noticed the quiet boy the first week he had joined university, all the other student were mingling around, talking to each other walking somewhere, being loud and in the middle of all that was one student sitting by himself under a tree not bothered at all.
At first it had been just curiosity, humans were social creatures but one showed absolutely no interest in his mates. Before he even realized it he was up to date with the freshman's at first he had been surprised when he first learned that he was a Business Administration major, the man was too docile to be business man but he had first seen him at the Business department so it made sense that was his major.
So how did George know Brandon's schedule? Simple, he was his lecturer this academic year. How small was the world, Brandon moved to the part time class taught by his husband. This coincidence had made George ecstatic but when Brandon had come up to him and told how he could not get his schedule yet for one reason or the other he had decided to act dumb. Even after he had confessed that he knew his schedule he had not told Brandon how. Giving his husband the biggest surprise when he got to class would be interesting to see. Would he be angry? Would he like it? We shall see when the day came right?
Maybe the could even work on something for higher grades, if you know what I mean. That would be so scandalous but George was turned on by the thought, he could already picture himself bending Brandon over his teacher's desk when the other students were not around. His pants getting tight around his crotch area. Brandon was a temptation he could not overcome, back then he had made it a point to by University just in the hopes of capturing a glance of Brandon. He was not like a stalker or anything but the man was intriguing, he never spoke a word to Brandon that would have been creepy. He had learned everything he could about him, his family background, his likes, his dislikes. For an introvert a lot of students sure did know a lot about him, what he could not get from other students a private investigator got for him.
Three years of observing and loving a man in the shadows the opportunity had present itself. Sheer Logic was going bankrupt, George had learnt of how Jonathan treated his beloved Brandon therefore he decided to hit the iron will its hot. Help Brandon's father, cultivate a good image before the love of his life then ask him out. The truth is when he had Jonathan for Brandon's hand in marriage he was just pulling his leg, trying to break the tension.
Imagine his shock when Jonathan had accepted his request no questions asked, he knew the man did not care for his step son but he did not think it was this bad but an opportunity had presented itself. No way was he going to act all righteous and let go it, he had gotten a fiance through very outdated means but he could now official have the love his life. He knew Brandon would be upset but he never thought that he would try to take his life just to get out of the engagement.
George could remember how scared he had been when he had seen Brandon floating face down in the pool at their engagement party. Brandon had not been mingling with one and it was just like that first day at the university, George had been keeping an eye on him the whole night till he went to bathroom came back and could not find him. His gut feeling told something was wrong, he left eye kept twitching. Asking around if anyone had seen Brandon a waiter had pointed him towards the pool and the next minute he was jumping into the pool shouting at anyone to call emergency service. He had gotten to know about the suicide note after they had gotten to the hospital.
There he made a promise to protect Brandon even if it was against himself. What he did not know is that he had already lost Brandon that night, the man he had married was someone else. Would he ever learn the truth?
