Chapter 40

1145 Words

Vorian POV Tonight had been one headache after another. First, a waiter spilled an entire tray of food. Then the shipment came in hours late. To top it off, I had to physically remove a drunk from the dining area. I hadn’t been to the restaurant all week pack affairs had kept me too busy and now I was paying for it. A mountain of paperwork waited for my attention, orders that hadn’t been approved, and lists of decisions I hadn’t made. Delegation. I really needed to learn how to do that. Knock knock. A soft tapping at the door pulled me from my thoughts. “Come in,” I said, my voice weary. Calista stepped inside, arms full with yet another stack of paperwork. “I’m sorry to disturb you, sir, but there’s more that needs your signature,” she said, placing the pile directly in front of me.
