Vorian’s POV She exhaled heavily as she pushed herself up from the bed. The mirror caught her reflection, and she winced. “Not the worst idea…” she muttered under her breath before twisting the faucet handle. Cool water splashed over her face, washing away the blotches of her earlier tears. I figured I had better swap into fresh clothes myself otherwise Varek might realize I’d lied about needing a change. I pulled on black shorts and a plain shirt, something easy, something that didn’t draw attention. By the time I was ready, Kavira stepped out of the bathroom.
