Kavira POV We watched as a little boy darted outside, a muffin clutched in his hand. A moment later, his mother came flying out of the office, grabbing him by the arm and scolding him for stepping out without her. She quickly ushered him back inside. The three of us exchanged a look one we’d shared too many times. It was time to leave. We piled into the car, Maelira behind the wheel, and as she drove off, the adrenaline finally drained from my system. The crash of exhaustion hit me like a tidal wave. “Kavira!
