I immediately open my eyes as I heard the knocking from the outside. It is too loud as if someone is mad or something. I looked at the digital clock beside my bed and it is just six in the morning.
IT IS TOO EARLY AND I AM STILL SLEEPY! WHO THE HELL IS KNOCKING? SUCH A DISTURBANCE.
*knock! knock! knock!*
“I am awake, who is in there?!” I annoyingly said as I got up and walk towards the main door. I didn’t even bother to fix my hair or appearance. I am really feeling sleepy.
“It is Dianna, the one and only” so she is the one who disturbed my beauty sleep. I rubbed my eyes first then I yawn. Damn, I want to go back to bed. This must be important or else I will going to kick her.
*knock! knock! knock!*
DAMN REALLY? HOW MANY TIMES DOES SHE HAVE TO KNOCK? CAN’T SHE WAIT OR SOMETHING?!
I twist the doorknob only to see her smiling face. So what is going on?
“I have good news for you, Thanatos! Can I come in?” I am surprised when she immediately enter my house and comfortably sit on the couch even if I am not yet responding to her. Wow, just wow. Feeling at home huh?
“What is that good news?”
“I will tell you later, but first, you need to eat. I brought you some burgers!” My eyes widened when she showed me a plastic bag. Probably the burger is inside. Well, that is a piece of good news for me because I did not eat dinner last night… the truth is I don’t know how to cook.
I immediately grab the plastic bag from her and get the burgers inside. I am craving for this. I quickly took a bite and I can’t help to shut my eyes. My goodness, it tastes very delicious!
“Woah, glory mother of food! I love this burger!” I said with excitement. She then laughs at me because of that.
“You are very easy to please”
“Who? Me? No, that is not true” I said as I took another bite from the burger. It is so tasty! Everything is bursting in my mouth!
“Really? It seems like if someone gives you food you will go with them”
“Hey, I love to eat but I am not stupid!” then I frown in front of her.
“Well, okay fine” she just raise both of her hands as a sign of surrender. Well, she should be, because I am really not stupid!
“So, what is the good news?”
“You have a job”
JOB? AM I CORRECT, SHE SAID JOB? I STOPPED MUNCHING MY FOOD AS I HEARD HER SAY THAT
“What?”
“Our company hired you!”
“WHAT?!” Damn, I said ‘WHAT’ twice already. I cannot believe this is happening right now.
“They reviewed your resume and you are hired. Well they are not so strict when it comes to hiring janitors so… yeah, they hire you immediately”
“I can’t believe it”
“You should believe it. And you have to finish eating that quickly because my manager wants to see you”
“What? Now?!” I am still absorbing everything and then the manager wants to see me? It is too fast. Why in a rush?
“Yes. Seven o’clock, sharp. We better get going because we only have one hour left”
“B-but… I don’t have any other clothes” I look like a living rug. I haven’t changed my clothes since then. And I did not take a bath for two days straight already.
“What?! My gosh Thanatos” she skeptically looks at me from top to toe. I feel awkward and shy for a moment. I smell and look awful, I know.
“I am not prepared! You just hand them my resume the other day and I didn’t expect that I will be hired today so I am not prepared!”
“Okay, okay fine! I will take care of it. I will just borrow some nice clothes from my brother. You just have to fix yourself quickly. We’ll ride my motorcycle”

“This… is… M&A Corporation? It is huge! Very huge! And elegant” I am amazed at what I am seeing right now. This building looks very expensive, and I look cheap to be here.
“I know right? Come, I will tour you inside” Dianna grabbed my hand and pulled me. Once I entered the building my eyes widened because of amusement. It is elegant outside and even more elegant INSIDE! I see a lot of gold and silver here.
“This place is wonderful”
“Close your mouth. Act natural, Thanatos. Even if you will just work here as a janitor don’t make it too obvious that it is your first time seeing a place like this”
I immediately close my mouth. I haven’t realized that it is open the whole time.
“Oh, Okay. I am sorry. I can’t help but admire the place”
“Yeah, I know. Me too when I entered this place for the first time. But I act normal so you should act normal too and calm yourself”
“What is exactly your position here?”
“I am just a regular employee here. And my manager is very cool, so don’t be nervous when talking to him okay?”
“Okay hehe” but the truth is my heart is loudly pounding as if it will burst anytime. I am really nervous. It is my first ever job as a human.
“Here he is! Good morning Sir Alex” Dianna pulled me beside her as she pointed to the man standing at the counter. The man looks a bit older than Dianna. My goodness, my hands are sweating right now.
“Oh hello there, Miss Dianna! So he is Thanatos? Our newly hired janitor?”
“Yes, sir”
“Uhm… g-good morning… sir” DAMN IT. I STUTTER! I TRIED NOT TO, BUT I DID! IT IS EMBARRASSING.
“Chill Mr. Salvador. Don’t be nervous, I don’t bite”
Wait, what did he say? Salvador? Is he referring to me? I am confused.
“Mr. Salvador?”
“Yes, that is your last name right? Or do you want me to call you by the first name?”
I don’t have a last name! Where did he… wait for a second, did Dianna put that last name on my resume?
I looked at her and she’s just awkwardly smiling at me. So she did, confirmed. I am Thanatos Salvador now. I don’t even know where she gets that name. I don’t like it. I like my name to be THANATOS alone.
But I don’t have any other choice.
“Ah… ahaha yes… yes Sir hehe just call me Thanatos. I am sorry I am just being so nervous right now”
“I told you, don’t be nervous. I am nice. Well, compared to the CEO of this company”
Okay now, what? CEO? I think I will be needing a dictionary here. I don’t know what he is talking about.
“CEO?”
“Yes, the owner” owner, means… owner of this place? So what is the personality of the owner?
“Sir… someone might hear you” Dianna butt in from our conversation as she whispers to this manager Alex. But I still heard her.
“Well, it is true Dianna. Most of the employees here are either afraid or hate her. They are just showing their puppy chuchu side when she’s around, but when she is gone, a lot of mouths blabber bad things to her”
Okay, it smells fishy here. I am intrigued by the CEO that he is talking to, but Dianna pulls me away from sir Alex immediately. I still want to hear more about that CEO.
“Ahehehe come, Thanatos. I will tour you now. You already met my manager so let us go. Bye sir Alex” Dianna looks afraid. She is being very careful when it comes to the CEO thing huh.
“Sure, no problem. Go to my office after an hour, we have work to be done okay, Dianna?”
“Yes, sir”
Then we started to walk towards the elevator. Even the door of the elevator looks very expensive! We just wait in front of it to automatically open.
“Is that true? The CEO of this company is someone to be afraid of?” I can’t help but ask.
“Well, Thanatos it is better if you just stay away from her or hide immediately when she comes.”
“In the way you say that it seems like she is a monster or something”
“Shhh… just be quiet. I am not sure if she is here today”
“Who are you referring to? Who’s that ‘SHE’?” I had goosebumps when I heard a voice from behind. Why does the voice seem familiar to me?
“Wahh!” Dianna shouted as she turned around to look at the person who just talked to us from behind. She looks like she had seen a ghost or something!
“Oh, why do you have to shout? I don’t want that kind of attitude, remember?” that voice, it is really familiar. I have heard it somewhere...
“I am sorry, Ma’am. Forgive me please” I am shocked when Dianna started to kneel down and beg. What? Why does she have to do that?
So I decided to turn around…
