I looked at Mia and gave her a faint smile.
"Thanks for being the only one here who hasn't turned on me."
We weren't exactly best friends, but Mia was the only colleague who had treated me like a human being. She never made snide remarks or threw judgmental glances my way. That alone meant a lot.
Two security guards approached. One grabbed each of my arms, ready to drag me out like a criminal. The humiliation was unbearable. I shot a cold glare at Samuel and yanked my arms free.
