For the first time, on his break, Leonard left his house, after telling Jack that he would be back at night, which was something he never did, he would usually just leave and not tell him anything, so when he did this, it made him happy and decide to cook them dinner, Leonard agreed on eating with him, which made Jack even happier and eager to look for recipes, to impress Leonard.
Leonard was going to Charles's house, which was on the other side of the city, it took half an hour to get there and when he did, he immediately parked his car in under thirty seconds, got the keys to Charles's house, and got in. He announced his presence and just then, someone came out of the bathroom with a towel around their waist, it was Charles's long term boyfriend, James, he was brushing his teeth and smiled when he saw Leonard at the door, he gt back in the bathroom and got back outside with a clean mouth, and hugged Leonard and asked about his whereabouts, while that was happening, another person came from the bathroom and it was James and Charles's new girlfriend, Sophia, who also smiled and came to hug him, with a towel around her body; Charles was walking down the stairs when that was happening and said: "You are making him uncomfortable, stop."
And indeed they were, Leonard didn't like getting hugged by half-n***d people who were also his best friend's lovers, and he made that clear by scratching his chin, which was a habit, he had when he got uncomfortable and Charles recognized that. James and Sophia apologized and left to get dressed.
"Sorry, they just like you a lot." Charles said he was aware of how much his lovers loved Leonard, one because he was younger than them and they thought of him as a cute little brother, and second, was because of how he talked about him around them.
"It's okay, I wasn't that uncomfortable." Leonard tried to play it off as it didn't affect him in the slightest, but his body didn't agree with him.
"Leo, your chin is bright red, don't lie if you can't. And next time, just tell them, they will get it." Charles said as they both sat down on the couch. "So, what is it?" Charles knew that Leonard was here for a reason, only from the expression he had on his face because when he wanted advice, he would fidget a lot and play with anything he could get his hands on, which was his keys in this case.
"I need to break up with Natasha, Rose, Jenny, Leah, and Princesse but I don't know how, I don't want to hurt their feelings or make them feel like it was their fault because it isn't, I just need to do it." Leonard said with a hint of sadness in his voice, he didn't want to break up with any of his girlfriends, he liked being with them but he couldn't back down now, he gave Kin his words.
"What's your reason?" Charles asked, trying t come up with a reason for Leonard to tell the girls, without making them feel as if they were the reason for the breakup.
"Kin asked me for a favor and I need to break up with them to do it." Leonard already told about Kin before but he hadn't told him about wanting to explore his sexuality yet, he wanted to leave that for Honest Sunday next week, the day they admit secrets to each other, once a month.
"Just tell them how important it is for you to pay back and not owe someone a favor, and if they know you well, they will hopefully understand." Charles was aware of how important it was for Leonard to keep his promises, he was a person who would die to repay someone or simply do what he was told, it was the way he was raised by his grandmother.
"I feel like Rose, Leah, and Jenny would understand but Natasha and Princesse won't, they are possessive of me on their own and won't like the idea of me leaving them." Leonard slightly disliked how obsessed they were with everything he did, the people he was with, their need to know what he was doing at any moment, but he tolerated it because he knew their past but that was an issue now.
"Whatever they like it or not, it's your choice, just make it clear why you are doing it and if they don't understand, it's their business." Charles added and Leonard nodded and said that he would talk to them later, all together, rather than text them which Charles told him was a horrible idea and that he should never break with someone on the phone or by a text.
After that, Leonard wanted to leave but James stopped him and told him to stay and eat lunch with them, which he and Sophia made while he and Charles were talking; he agreed and sat down to eat with them, or more to get fed by Sophia and James, who kept putting food on his plate and even feeding him at times, which he didn't mind that much.
"So, Leonard, I heard you started a company." Sophia suddenly said and Leonard nodded, which got Sophia to ask the next question. "Isn't it too much for you? I know you are a hard worker but there is a limit." Sophia only brought this up, because Charles had been talking about how worried he was getting about Leonard's routine, so she thought of bringing it up since they were all together.
"She is right, I wanted to talk to you about this for a couple of fo days but I think you are pushing yourself too hard and you should take a break next week, and don't tell me you are already on a break, I know you still do work, I have contacts with all of your assistants and they told me everything, no twenty-six-year-old is build to work 14 hours a day, for six days a week, we had this talk before and we will continue to have this discussion until you reduce your working time." Charles was thirty, he didn't have his life figured out or anything, he only knew that he was living a meaningful life, but he felt like Leonard wasn't the same, he lived to give validation to himself, to give himself a worth, a price to breathing, and he didn't like that, he needed to relax and live a normal life, not work work work, girls girls girls and clubs, that wasn't a proper way to live.
"First of all, I work 13 hours and a half, there is a difference and it's five days a week, on Saturdays, I only work for four or five hours, I do not work that much and I take breaks at the middle of the day." Leonard said as if that made it any better; he knew he was a workaholic, anyone in the same field as he was, but not to the extent he was, as far as he knew, was he proud of that? Maybe.
"Lunch breaks, coffee breaks, and restroom breaks don't count, and don't act like you made that decision on your own, I made you do it or else you would have died of malnourishment." Charles was starting to get frustrated with Leonard's constant excuses and how lifestyle wasn't bad, it was annoying to hear when he could see the long-lasting effect of that kind of life; he would eventually become a robot.
"I eat!"
"Bread is not a meal!"
At 4 pm, Leonard said goodbye to the three lovers and rode away in his car, to a cafe where he would meet his five girlfriends and break up with them; he was nervous and started regretting saying yes to Kin, and even hated the fact that he knew if he backed down, he would hate himself and the girls for no reason. 'Why grandma? Why?' Leonard thought to himself as he got out of his car and spotted the girls chatting inside.
'It's now or never.' Leonard took a deep breath and got into the cafe, he waved at the girls and walked to them.
Cut to fifteen minutes later, where Natasha threw her ice tea on him, Princesse slapped him, Leah was crying with Rose trying to calm her down and Jenny was trying to stop Natasha from throwing hot coffee at Leonard, who was sitting there and accepting everything, he shouldn't have picked up a public space, this was going all over the news tomorrow.
"Leonard, leave." Rose said, after Leah ran to the bathroom, she was about to follow her but decided to stop to tell Leonard to go.
"But....." Leonard wanted to stay and do something, to make it less painful for them, but there was nothing he could do to do that, he just broke their heart.
"Just leave, that's the best you can do right now." Rose added and left to the bathroom. Leonard looked around him and saw everyone filming him, which would hurt his reputation, so he decided that it was best to leave.
He took his stuff and after his shirt was torn was by Natasha, he left with a bright red cheek, thanks to Princess who knew how to slap, he was lucky she didn't punch him, she was a boxer and he would collapse if she did.
He drove away from the cafe and went straight to his house, and to his room, without even looking at Jack and the table and the food, he made for him.
