The staring contest continued on until they reached home and Layla told them to get down, she saved Kin from the awkwardness, that Leonard created for fun and giggles, he liked seeing their expressions, Kin looked as if heard the worst news of his life, which was a tiny bit upsetting, did he hate him that much? Leonard couldn’t get the answer to his question, because Kin wasn't going to answer that one honestly, he did before and the reasoning had to sense whatsoever. Layla left to the bathroom as soon as they entered and left the both of them alone, to go talk to Lucas and inform him that Leonard was in their home, but back to the present, which was fifteen minutes later. “Do you like the coffee?” Kin asked, as he put his cup of tea down and he tried to open a conversation with Leonard, to lessen the awkwardness; Leonard was awfully quiet, unlike all the previous times they met before and it scared him a bit. “Yea, the best coffee I ever had.” Leonard replied and the conversation ended right there, both quietly sipped their drink until Layla walked down and sat down, see chugged down the juice, and told Kin to hit her with it and tell her what he wanted to tell her. After she finished her phone call with Lucas, it took her ten minutes to man up and decide to face what she did, she was trying to set up a plan to make her brothers date each other, which was a sin on its own but let us ignore that for a second. “I want you to be friends with Leonard.” Kin said, which exceeded Layla’s expectation, her expectations were on a planet and what he said was on another, but she took it nicely and didn’t react in an outrageous way, she calmly put her elbow on the table and intertwined her hands together, smiled and said: “I prefer dying.” “Layla, I don’t know what happened and why you suddenly hate him but he has done nothing wrong to you and he is a great guy." Kin said which made Leonard's ego boost, even more than it already was, maybe he didn't hate him after all. “You said you hated him and wanted me to stay away from him! He is nothing good, he is taking you away from us.” If it wasn’t obvious to Kin, that Layla was jealous of his relationship with Leonard, it was now, she only came to hate Leonard more because of what Lucas told her on the phone, which was Leonard was forcing Kin to take on a job in his company and will overwork him because he was a horrible boss. “Nobody is taking me away from anyone, I will always be with you and I promised I would help him gain friends, once I do that, I will stay away from him, so can you be his friend?” Kin held Layla’s hands and tried to convey the message that if she cooperate, they will get rid of him faster but she didn’t get the memo and only got angrier, because she knew him too well to believe that lie in his eyes. “Why should I do that for an asshole like this? Who knows nothing but overworking and bullying others?” Layla complained, see turned to the side to look at unbothered Leonard, who was sipping his coffee and enjoying the show; Lucas was definitely the one who told her that, ah, his reputation was going down the drain. “Where did you hear that? That's not true." He didn't know if it was but for this situation, he was going to pretend that was not true. "And even if he was, we can change him, like in the dramas." "What?" Layla got a bit confused and Leonard was too, and that's when Kin realized he let his inner thoughts out. "Nothing, anyway please, for me?” Kin showed his best puppy eyes to Layla and held her hand tightly and pouted, he blinked his eyes multiple times to appear cute; see watching dramas does help with your every day, this was a shoutout to his mom back in his world, who always told him to do something better on his summer vacation, than watch things. 'Look how useful that watching cheesy romance series is now, dear mother.' Layla was mesmerized and couldn't say no, but he still wasn’t willing to back down completely so she turned her head away and said: “Why are talking in his place? If he wants to be my friend, he should ask me!” After she said, Kin glanced at Leonard finding out that he was staring at him, which made him a bit uneasy but that let's leave that for another time, he needed to make their relationship better, he gestured to Leonard to do what she asked, Leonard got up from his seat and stood right in front of Layla, he extended his hand and asked her: “Layla, would you be my friend?” Leonard would have never guessed a day….no even an hour ago, that he would ask a girl, who used to look at him dreamily each time she laid her eyes on him, to be his friend, while she looked irritated and unwilling. In fact, if he himself told himself from the past, that he would be asking someone to be his friend, he would have laughed and asked what kind of tv show they were making with the prank they were pulling on him; because one he never makes friends, not new ones or anyone for that matter, people rarely enter his life as friends, the real ones and not the fake ones he used as accessory, two he would never, ever ask anyone to be his friend, his pride wouldn’t let him. But guess there are firsts for everything, and if the question why comes to your mind, and you are waiting for an answer, welp I got none, Leonard was just bored of his life and wanted to make it more enjoyable by approaching the Yuen siblings? How about that? “I guess it's fine.” Layla rolled her eyes and didn’t shake his hands, she only gave him a dirty look and told him to sit back down and shut up because he was annoying her. “Sure." Leonard said and tried to hold back his smile when he saw Layla look at him with absolute disgust. “Now hug.” Kin said with an enthusiastic smile and encouraged them to do; Layla declined and claimed that she would get germs if she stuck close to him and she was scared he would do something to her, which Leonard look down in sadness, his puppy ears dropped and he pouted and tried to act as if he was being bullied. Kin turned to look at Layla and said with a soft voice her name and begged her with his eyes to do it, he didn't notice the smug look Leonard gave Layla, he did it on purpose, he didn’t mind if she didn’t hug him, it was her choice and it didn’t matter that much to him, he only did it to annoy her and to see Kin defend him in front of her, talk about having great friends. “Fine.” Layla finally gave up and reluctantly approached Leonard, she hugged without making much connection, she didn't want their skin to touch for more than it should, but she got close enough to whisper in his ear, the three magical words: “I hate you.” “The feeling is mutual.” Leonard replied with a smile and made it seem to Lin, as if they were getting along and that they were already starting to like each other. ‘This is going to be easy.’ Kin thought to himself when he saw them, he thought they would start loving each other in no time, he just needed to push them together and take care of the harem ladies, and push them away Leonard, because he was his man. Just as the two were about to let go of the hug, Lucas walked in and saw them in each other's hands, which made Leonard curse and hope he doesn't die.
