By the time Kin got back home, it was 4 pm, around the time Layla would get home; he was at the door with Leonard, who insisted on staying with him, until one of the siblings got home, just to make sure Kin got home safely and that Lucas would know that he had been kind to his dear older brother, but Kin didn’t want that, he didn’t want Leonard to come in contact with Layla, even by mistake; he needed to make Leonard leave before Layla gets home.
“Can you leave?” Kin asked him, he couldn’t afford Layla to see this man, which could lead to many complications and may even make Layla like him.
“Why? You seem to dislike me a lot for some reason.” Leonard said and Kin confirmed it and started pushing him away from the house.
“Just leave!” Kin shouted when Leonard wasn’t moving and stayed in his position, it was irritating that he couldn’t push him away and just throw him in his car but he can’t, the stupid body of his.
“If you give me your number I will.” Leonard said and Kin immediately agreed, ready to do anything to get Leonard away from the house, especially since he saw Layla’s car from a distance.
“I will be waiting for an update about Lucas from you, see you soon.” Leonard gave him a charming smile and got inside his car, in a great mood, guess he would go to the club later, to celebrate it.
Kin sat at the door and waited for Layla to arrive, to open the door for him, he hoped she didn’t see Leonard, she didn’t but she did see a silhouette of a man, of a familiar man, who she loved and wanted to be with, again.
“Who was that?” Layla asked, as soon as she got out of the car and spotted Kin. She felt as if she saw that man before, he was oddly tall and had a good body shape, which was similar to those of Leonard but why would he be here? That couldn’t be the case, he didn’t know they were here either, she must have just imagined it, it had been a long time since she saw him. Hopefully in this life, she could have him for herself.
“An acquaintance of mine, he came to ask me about my condition.” Lin replied, telling her a half-lie, that was somewhat true because Leonard....wait no, Leonard would never be his acquaintance or friend or anything, he doesn’t even like the idea of being around him, for what he did to Layla in the book and for the time they were together in this world.
“I see, why are you outside by the way?”
“I was locked out of the house earlier without my phone.” Kin said as Layla went to open the door, for the two of them.
“Oh, we need to get your keys then.” Layla was the one who suggested that they don’t give Kin keys until he fully recovered, so he doesn’t have any way of leaving the house and getting himself tired or injured, but maybe that was a bad idea.
“Yes, thank you, I want to be able to go to the park.” Kin expressed his delight with that news, which made Layla feel shitty for telling her brother, to not give keys to Kin.
Layla left, a few minutes after she got home because she had to go to work, in a restaurant where she had the job of a waitress, a job she dreamt of and was finally able to get this year when Kin convinced their parents to let her work, to be able to socialize and have friends outside her circle, and to learn how to earn money on her own and not be spoiled, Kin gave many other reasons but those were just a few; the important thing was Layla was able to do something she wanted, instead of being stopped by her parents like she used to ever since she was a child.
After he was left on his own in the house, he went to his bed and laid there, with his phone beside him, he had his eyes closed and had plans to sleep for half an hour and then wake up to…...play games on his phone, he had nothing else to do, after all, he was the same as a neet who had nothing going on in their life.
He ended up sleeping for two hours and the only reason he woke up was that his phone started buzzing, which signaled that he was getting messages; he hasn’t had those in a couple of days, Kin didn’t have many friends, actually, he just had one and that person was overseas studying, and he lost contact with him before the ‘accident’ and the sibling pair always called him instead of messaging, so that meant one thing.
Kin lazily opened his eyes and looked for his phone, he found it and once he unlocked it, he saw what he expected, [Annoying Pest sent you a message]; he sighed and put down his phone, went to the bathroom, washed his face and got his phone, then walked downstairs, ready to be annoyed by Leonard.
Once he opened Leonard’s messages, he found nine and he read through all of them, they consisted of the following sentences, which Kin replied to:

How are you doing?
Better when I didn’t see your messages
I enjoyed our date earlier
I didn’t, but I did enjoy the pizza
Would love to do it again
I wouldn’t
I am joking, I am straight, actually, I am with a girl right now

By the way, I found you a job, as my secretary
Anything but that, I do not want to be with you for longer than I have

After he replied to all the messages, he put his phone on the kitchen counter and went to the fridge, to check if he could find anything to eat, he didn’t so he decided to make ramen for himself but before he did, he sent a message to Lucas and Layla, asked them if they wanted him to make ramen for them and waited for their response, he got the ingredients ready and as he just finished, he heard a ding and he went to check, conveniently he got a response from all three of them.
Layla and Lucas replied with a yes in all capes in their group chat and Leonard had another five messages for him to read, he didn’t want to respond so he just typed ‘I am busy’ and turned on some music, but then, his phone started ringing and long behold, it was Leonard calling him.
