I Don’t Want To Be A Wife!

After getting all that he needed, they left the store together, Leonard and Kin that is, while Layla and Jack were following behind them, they seemed to be getting along well, they were even sharing a bag of chips while murmuring and smiling weirdly; as they were plotting against their loved ones.

“Leonard, introduce me to a girl.” Kin suddenly blurted out and everyone stopped, Leonard stopped and dropped the bags in his hands, Layla dropped the bag of chips and Jack choked on the potato chip that was in his mouth.

Kin looked behind him, worried about the boy who was chocking, he didn’t know how to help and didn’t have anything to help, so he panicked and tried to help by patting on his back, until Jack stopped coughing and pushed Lin away, telling him that he doesn’t need his help or care, but Kim didn’t have enough time to refute or say anything before Layla showered him with questions.

“What? Why? Who is it? I thought we talked about this, no girlfriend for you!” Layla told frantically and shook him furiously, no one tried to stop her, because they valued their life and an angry woman was a dangerous one.

“No, we never agreed on anything. And I just want to have one.” Kin shrugged, he didn’t of it as a big deal, he just had that thought when he saw Layla and Jack walking close by, they looked cute and wondered if he could have that himself; and after all the dramas he watched and the love he saw in them, he wanted to see if he can have a girlfriend or boyfriend, who knew, he never questioned his s****l identity or tried to guess which he was attracted to, because it didn’t matter to him, if he loved someone, he would them for who they are and not their gender.

“You can’t.” Layla said, worried that her brother would be heartbroken if Kin ever got a lover.

“I can and I will, it’s my choice and you can’t stop me.” Kin said and dodged Layla, and started walking away to the car, with Leonard right behind him, with his groceries in his hands.

Jack looked at Layla with doubt and worrisome written all over his face and said: “What are you going to do?”

“Stop him, I need to speed up my plan and you, don’t let Leonard out of your sight and if he ever talks about Kin, tell me.” Layla was determined to not let Kin have a girlfriend, it would be either his brother or no one.

“Okay, give me your number then.”

After Layla gave it to him, they parted ways and went to their cars, Layla went to Kin and apologized for her behavior with a sweet smile, which made him forgive her instantly, and Jack went to Leonard and promised to behave if he let him stay, and swore on the life of his pet dog that he had at home, which made Leonard agree before he could even finish swearing, he didn’t want the poor dog to suffer because of him.

But to let him stay, Leonard had a few rules, one, never interrogate him about anything he does or anyone he met, two, he would be in charge of cooking and a maid would come to clean three times a week so he doesn’t need to do anything or touch anything, three, not to bring anyone to his home, and the most important one, never enter his room, if he does, he would be out and the door would never be opened again.

Jack agreed with a heavy heart, he knew he wouldn’t be able to follow the fourth rule, but he would try and hide that fact if he does enter. And with that, Leonard gained a roommate and an early one at that, the second one was soon to come.

That day, at 7 am, Kin walked with Layla through the gates of her school, to where the buses were, Lucas wasn’t with them, he had a business trip and left the house at 4 am or so, and would come back later on the day.

Kin parked outside of the school and got out, to grab Layla’s stuff and made sure they got everything and checked with her to know if they forgot anything they needed to get, luckily, she had everything and ready to enjoy her day on the trip, or that’s what he thought.

When Layla caught a glimpse of Nicholas, she dragged Kin with her, to see him, once she was close enough to him, she let go of Kin’s hand and jumped on Nicholas’s back, and said in a cheerful voice: “Hey!”

“Hi there wild cat, mind getting off my back?” Nicholas asked in a calm voice, he was sleepy and he couldn’t even carry himself, let alone her.

“Sure.” Layla got down after she whispered in his ear: “My older brother is behind us, I told him you are my boyfriend, play the part and I will give you 10% of the snacks I got.”

Nicholas suddenly got energized and put his hands around Layla’s waist as soon as she got down, he spotted the said brother behind them and smiled, he extended his hand and introduced himself.

“Layla, you didn’t tell me you had such a handsome boyfriend.” Kin teased with a smile and shook his hand. He was happy when he heard that Layla got herself a boyfriend, it was a surprise when she told him this morning, it was out of nowhere but he was glad she had someone, other than Leonard.

“Haha, thank you and she didn’t tell me she had such a cool brother.”

“Are you excited about the trip?”

“Yup. I can’t wait to spend time with this angel.” Nicholas said and glanced at Layla with loving eyes, the latter smiled and pushed herself closer to Nicholas to sell the idea and said that she was excited about it too.

“Enjoy your time. I will not disturb you any longer, I have to go, take care of each other, goodbye.” Kin hugged Layla goodbye and wished her all the best, and walked away. Once he got to the car and Layla spotted it leaving the school grounds, she moved away from Nicholas and sighed.

“So when did I become your boyfriend? I don’t remember you confessing to me, I would remember because I would have rejected you.” Nicholas said and Layla just glared at him and told him that she was going to tell him everything on the bus, for now, they needed to talk about why half of their classmates were exchanging money and whispering about them. “Everyone bet on us dating but I will have to break their dreams and take the money.”

In their class, everyone was a couple or at least everyone made everyone a couple and they all placed bets on what couple would become real and what couple wouldn’t, the class president held the money and would be the one to decide was together or not, to not allow any fools games and guess they thought they were a couple because he had his hand on Layla’s waist.

“Don’t, let them believe we are, this will make it easier and Kin will never find out this way.” Layla had to take extreme measures to let her plan work and if pretending to be her friend’s girlfriend was one of them, she was willing to take it. A lot of her classmates were well off and known, and they, her and Kin and Lucas would probably meet them at a party one day or another and on that day, she doesn’t want them to spoil everything for her, she can’t let that happen.

“You know what will happen if the news comes out and my mom heard about it? We would be married in a month and with a kid in a year, so no.” Nicholas couldn’t even bear his mother hearing rumors about him possibly dating someone, if she even heard him for another mother, a teacher, or just a passerby, she would be planning his wedding and buying baby clothes.

“I will give 20% of the snacks.” Layla said and walked to the bus, already knowing that Nicholas was going to agree with snacks on the table and he did.

“I always liked kids, they are such nice demonic creatures.” Nicholas alongside with her, with the fakest smile he could put on and dream about the snacks he was going to get, with the two backpacks she had, that were filled with delicious food, who cared about possibly being forced to be married and living with someone he didn’t love, food was more important.
