Leonard was running a bit late to the date, his trip to the hospital took longer than he expected and now he was five minutes late to the date, and if he knew Lucas well, he was going to hate that, perfect. As he was looking around the mall for Lucas, he found him standing in front of a fountain and staring at his phone, he seemed annoyed and slightly angry, which made Leonard delighted.
He walked to him with a huge smile and tapped him on the shoulder, Lucas looked up and was about to say finally, until he saw Leonard’s face and got confused about what was he doing here on a weekday when he was supposed to be working, was he slacking? Either way, he didn’t want to see his face for longer than he should and told him to leave.
“But I am your date.” Leonard replied with a cheerful smile, which ticked Lucas off and made him more annoyed than he already was.
“Excuse me? No, you are not. Stop it with your unreasonable unfunny jokes.” Lucas said and got up to leave but Leonard stopped him, and told him to call Kin and ask him if he was really joking or not, or else he could just wait for no one to show up.
Because he didn’t want to take the chance, Lucas did end up calling Kin and asking about what Leonard did, and after he confirmed that Leonard was indeed his date, Lucas got even angrier and asked him why he did, when he perfectly knew how much Lucas hated Leonard.
“The love that comes from hate is the best kind.” Kin tried to apply philosophy to his words, which came from dramas that he watched religiously each time before he went to bed, and unfortunately for him, Lucas realized that and called him out for it.
“You just watched enemies turn to lovers drama, right?” Lucas said with a bored expression on his face, knowing that Kin was just reading a script he watched a dozen times on TV, either than by himself or with Layla, those two were obsessed with dramas, especially Kin, which was a change from the old him, who found dramas exaggerated and boring.
“Yeah,” Kin admitted and looked down at the floor as if he was a kid getting scolded for eating candy when he wasn't supposed to, even though the conversation was on the phone and Lucas couldn't see him.
“I knew it, bye and get a better hobby or genre to watch.” Lucas said and hung up, then turned around to look at Leonard who looked back with a cheeky smile; Lucas rolled his eyes and punched Leonard in the stomach, and told him to stop smiling because it was grossing him out. "Move it," Lucas added before he started walking, to god's know where, with Leonard following after him, ready for his misery to start.
Lucas wanted to badly leave this date and go home, to hide in his room and do anything else then pretend that he was at the date, but he couldn't because he knew Leonard would tell Kin if he left, and that would ruin everything for him.
That wouldn't have happened, because you know what? Leonard didn't want to be there either, he wanted to go home and chill, to play video games, or simply stare at the wall, it would much better than whatever this was that they were doing, not walking together, while staring at opposite directions, but he knew if he did leave, Lucas would tell Kin and that would make him a liar and someone who couldn't keep his words.
There was a miscommunication between the two, but even if they talked, they wouldn't be able to leave without getting found out, because Kin was following them. and they both knew that twenty minutes into the date he wasn't very good at concealing his presence and it was easy for them to spot him, each time they went in and out of a*****e.
"Do you see him as well?" Leonard asked Lucas; they were currently in a fast-food restaurant, waiting for their order when they spotted Kin at the corner of the restaurant, staring at them while holding a book upside down.
"Yeah, let him be, it's his day off and we should let him spend it the way he wants to." Lucas said in a monotone voice, he didn't care that Kin was watching them, he just needed to be with Leonard and if Kin wanted to watch it the same way he watched dramas, then be it.
"By stalking us? This is getting weirder, what's wrong with your family?" Leonard was amused by the Yuen siblings but now, he just found them weird and slightly annoying, maybe his perspective on them changed after what he had to do yesterday, but that didn't matter, he just knew that he doesn't like them as much as he did before.
"Nothing, we are a perfect and normal functioning family, now let's eat so we could watch that movie and get this date done." Lucas said as they got their food and went to sit down to eat; all of it being watched by Kin, who was eating his chips and watching them closely.
Was it a mistake to ask Leonard to take Lucas out on a date? Probably.
Was it a mistake to follow them around and spy on them like a creepy uncle? Of course not!
But was it a mistake to dress up in all black on a hot day? Definitely yes, he was sweating and his face was getting redder by the minute and people were staring at him as if he was crazy, which he probably would have said to himself if he saw himself because he did look like a weird guy who was following someone. After all, he was.
And as much as he wanted to believe that the two didn't notice him, they did see him and were pretending not, was that going to stop him from following them? He was just going to take the black jacket, the beany, and hoodie off and walk around like a normal person until he would decide if he should, keep following them or just spend his Sunday in another way; like watching a movie.
This was what Leonard and Lucas did when they finished their lunch and because Kin was bored, he said to himself, why not follow them there? The movie they watched was an action movie, Kin's least favorite genre, which was why, he got bored halfway through and had to battle the sleepiness. In the end, he lost the battle and slept for an hour and a half into a three-hour movie and was carried out of the cinema by Lucas later on, without him even waking up.
He didn't even wake up when Leonard and Lucas started arguing in the parking lot about.....nothing, they were just screaming at each other and insulting the other person's outfit or personality, or anything they could make fun of, how they got there, you ask, well let's rewind to ten minutes ago.
They were standing in the elevator that was going to take them downstairs, to the parking lot, where Lucas and Leonard parked their cars, they were walking in silence when Kin's hand fell from his lap and Leonard tried to get it back on his lap ( it sounds as if Kin's hand was just sitting on his lap and fell on the ground, lol, I am not good at describing things) but Lucas stopped him before he could do that and told him not to touch Kin.
"Why? Afraid he will fall for me because of a touch?" Leonard said with a smirk, which got Lucas even angrier, and told him to shut up.
“I am letting you be around him just because it’s a closed space.” Lucas commented and moved away from Leonard, to the corner. He didn’t think he could hate a human being that much, but he hated Leonard so much that he wanted a volcano to swallow him whole and not even leave any bones or evidence he died, was that harsh? Yes, but did he want it to happen? Also yes, was he going to make that happen by planning something? Maybe, only time could tell us.
“Why are you so obsessed with him? It’s not like there is anything special about him.” Leonard said, getting on Lucas’s nerves, which was exactly what he wanted, to get him angry and annoyed at him.
He still found fun to miss around with Lucas to get his reaction, because when it came to Kin, Lucas’s expressions were priceless, if he could buy them on an auction every day to see them, he would, only to resell them again, of course, he was a businessman after all and he knew that if he valued that kind of thing, other people would too. (No they wouldn’t, he is just childish.)
“That’s for me to decide, mind your own business, bruised face.” Lucas said and glared at him sideways. It wasn’t his business, whenever he was obsessed with his brother or not, that’s his issue and he should be the one to decide if he wanted to be obsessed or not, and he decided that he would, not because of anything other than the fact that he cherished Kin way too much, after what happened.
“Oh, I am bruised face now, because of a red cheek and a bandage? If I am bruised face then you are scarface.” Leonard commented after he spotted a small scar on LucasMs left side of his forehead.
That scar carried a lot of memories, bad memories and Lucas didn’t like getting reminded of its existence so that made him, even more, angrier than he already was.
“Shut it, at least I don’t have a piece of hay for a brain.” Lucas tried to come up with an insult but that was the best he could think of and he knew it was a bad insult, because…
“I own multiple companies and I am a billionaire, what have you done? Walk on your parent’s shadow?” Leonard was getting on dangerous territory, Lucas hated that sentence to his core, it was said to him on numerous occasions and he hated being reminded of the fact, that he wouldn’t be where he was if it was not for his parents.
Because even if there was some truth to that, he wanted to believe that it was also thanks to his brain and talent, it took time to get where he was and it didn’t only happen because of his parents, people needed to realize that and stop crediting all of his success to his parents, and he will start doing that by insulting Leonard.
“At least I am not a s**t who f***s everyone they see because they have a lack of emotion and ability to love someone because they never experienced love in their whole life.” When Lucas went hard, nobody could stop him and Leonard realized that when he felt a sting after what Lucas said.
It hurt to hear it come out of someone else’s mouth other than his inner self but he wasn’t going to give up just yet, this was a battle and only the strongest would survive and that was going to him.
“At least I have friends and a personality, and I don’t rely on other people for everything, I am independent and have charms that make everyone fall for me, not like you, who make people scared just by accidentally glancing at him.” Leonard hit back with his insult, that slightly affected Lucas and got him slightly angrier:
“At least I have a family that supports me and doesn’t use me for my wealth.” Lucas’s comeback was strong but Leonard had his one, which was going to change the whole game.
“At least I am not in love with my brother and obsessed with him to the point where I want to lock him up and limit his access to anything.” After he said, the elevator door opened for the fifth time, after Leonard pushed the button to keep it opened, and walked out of the elevator, with Lucas silently watching him with a hateful glare.
Before they parted ways, they exchanged one last interaction, which consisted of them saying:
“f**k you.”
“f**k you too, bitch.”
And that’s how their date ended, pretty enticing, wasn’t it? A perfect end for a perfect date, with a perfect couple who surely liked each other and weren’t forced into it by the same guy. Surely they were going to fall in love with each other after that.
After Leonard left the mall, he went straight to the club, Kin told him not to have girlfriends, but he didn’t say that he couldn’t hook up with other people; so, he called Charles and told him to meet him at the usual club, they met at.
Charles brought Sophie with him, James was working and would meet up with them when he would be done; either way, they got into the club and got drunk, danced, flirted and had a good time together, but unfortunately for Leonard, he didn’t find anyone worthy of sleeping with him and ended up just getting drunk with his friends.
“Leonard, Leonard, wake up.” Sophie was trying to wake Leonard, to get him back home, but Leonard wasn’t waking and kept whining; and when she was about to get a cup of water, to wake him up with, Charles stopped her and whispered something in Leonard’s ear, which made him immediately wake up and get on Charles’s back.
“Let’s go.” Charles said and started walking with Leonard hugging him from the back, with his head on his shoulder, Leonard looked comfortable and hugged Charles closer, enjoying the warmth.
“He is like a big baby.” Sophie said as she ruffled Leonard’s hair, with a smile on her face.
“He is, but don’t let him hear you, he will get angry.” Charles exclaimed with a chuckle.
“I paid the bill.” James said, as he caught up to his lovers and saw Leonard on Charles’s back, he smiled and ruffled with his hair, before he expressed how cute he looked.
“Thanks for paying, next time is on me.” Charles said but James told him, he can repay him in another way. “What way?”
“Sophie.” James said and gave Sophie the look.
