“Oh yea, I found a person who might be linked to the murder, his name is Leno Sen, he is a twenty-five-year-old restaurant owner with a wealthy family behind him and it doesn’t seem that he was the only one involved.”
“Leno…..” That name was oddly familiar, where did he hear it before?
“What’s wrong? Do you know him?”
“No, I just heard that name somewhere.”
‘That dream was a sign.’ Kin thought to himself as he remembered hearing that name in that dream, even though he forgot pieces of the dream, he still remembered the main points; he told Layla the truth, he was assaulted by a man called Leno, and Layla and Lucas wanted to pay him back fo what he did.
"Anyway, I wasn't able to track him down, but I was able to track down his wife and his child with her, do you want to go ask her about him?"
"I am not sure, she is probably not involved."
"I doubt that, it's a family business, she must be in it in a way or another."
"But how will we be asking her? You are a famous person and I am the son of famous people, if she was involved in the slightest way possible, then she won't even look at any of us."
"Let's ask someone."
"Who?"
"Charles, no, wait, he can't, he is not here, maybe I should ask Sophie or James."
"Who are those?"
"His lovers, they will help us."
"Guess the saying is right."
"What saying?"
"If you stay with a group of people for forty days, you become like that.”
(So fun fact, since I was a child, I thought that this saying was said by the prophet, I am Muslim by the way, but turns out that’s not the case, what the saying says is, if you stay with a group of people and you like them, you will become one of them in just a day, but if you are with a group of people that you don’t like, then even if you spend forty months with them, you are not one of them, anyway, I am going to use it anyway and let’s imagine I never said anything and this saying is true, okay? Okay, back to the story)
“Well I have known Charles for a long time so yes he does have an influence on me, one way or another.”
“Who started dating multiple people first?”
“Him.”
“I see.”
“I don’t know how to feel about that but I have to go now, I have work to catch up to, bye.”
“Bye.”
Kin concluded the day by cooking himself pasta since his two siblings weren’t home, Layla was with her boyfriend, as the note she left him said, and Lucas was out with a friend, they both confirmed that they won’t be back until midnight so he just made them for himself, when the bell rang.
He went to open the door and found a drunk Lucas and Layla, who immediately hugged him the moment he opened the door, he stumbled back a bit but he was able to not fall and held them in his arms, he wondered what they were doing here, at only 11 pm, when he suddenly saw Leonard and Nicholas getting out of a car and walking to him, with Nicholas being a bit wobbly, seemingly being drunk as well.
“What is this?” Kin asked when Leonard walked up to him with the drunk Nicholas beside him.
“I went out to get myself dinner and found them at the entry of a bar, passed out.” Leonard simply wanted to buy himself two pizzas and some snacks because he was planning on sprinting the night at his office, but when he was passing by a club, he saw two familiar people, who turned out to be Lucas and Layla and someone with them; and because he was such a nice person, and he wanted Lucas as his business partner, he put him in his car and drove them here.
“God, they reek.” Kin said as he got in with the two babies on his shoulders, he put them in the living room and walked back to the door, where Nicholas was passed out and brought him inside as well. Ten minutes, they were all snoring in the living room and deeply asleep.
“I should get going.” Leonard said after a small conversation he had with Kin.
“I just made dinner, do you want to eat with me?”
“No, it’s okay, I have my pizza with me.”
“It must be cold though, I will heat up for you.”
“I have a microwave, but why are you being so nice? Do you need something?”
“Can’t someone just be nice because they are in a good mood?”
“What good mood? Why a good mood? We just talked about assault and murder hours ago.”
“At least I am going through them and hey, even if she did sexually assault you, didn’t this make you learn something?” Kin to make it into something positive.
“What thing?”
“You need to be careful and you should probably move out, if she broke in once, she can break in a hundred times more.”
“I guess, she did send me a message that she will burn me down with it today and even said that she will stab me if she sees me ….wait…..Jack is in the house! I need to get him out.” Leonard remembered how dark his house was at night and how bad Natasha’s vision was at night, and imagined Jack walking downstairs to get a cup of water and Natasha just stabbing him by accident, he can’t live with that possibility in his head, he needed to get Jack out of there.
