I Don’t Want To Be A Wife!

Team Up

At 5 am, Leonard was putting bandages on his bruised hand, more specifically on his fingers that got cut after he was cutting onions, he was cooking himself an early breakfast when he heard the ring bell and wondered who was visiting him, it was early in the morning and his girlfriends left hours ago, and they wouldn't come by without sending him a message first.

  Leonard armed himself with a knife and went to the door, no robber or killer would ring the bell but the knife was just to feel safe and he was right about taking it, because the moment he opened the door, someone attacked him and while he was struggling, he ended up injuring them.

“Jack? What are you doing here?" Leonard said, with bored eyes, he was worried for nothing, it was just Jack playing another joke to entertain himself. 

“Hi, cousin.” The man smiled and looked at him with innocent eyes, Leonard didn't care and slowly got up and went back to his kitchen to check on the dough, he was working on before he was disturbed, by that annoying cousin of his, who seemed to be back in the country and no longer overseas, which was a misfortune for him since he didn’t like Jack being in the same country as him, mainly because of this kind of stuff.

While cooking, Leonard found out that he was missing a key ingredient, onion and garlic powder, he had to go find a shop and buy them, he can't cook without them. He wore his coat and got his wallet, he was about to leave, when he saw that Jack was in front of him with his injured hand and didn't leave for some reason. 

  "What do you want? Is it money? How much?" Leonard opened his wallet but Jack stopped him and told him that, that wasn't what he wanted, he wanted to stay in Leonard's house for the week because he had no other place to stay, Leonard refused and gave him money to rent a house, and tried to leave but Jack stopped him and showed him his hand, which made Leonard go to his guest room, get the first aid kit and hand it to him, it was his fault he got injured, who told him to attach him? What did he think would happen?

  "I want to be with you." Jack said with puppy eyes but Leonard just pushed him out of the house, closed the door, and walked to his car, Jack followed him to his car and even got in without permission.

“Leave me alone.” Leonard got out of the car and opened the door for Jack to get down, but he didn't and he had no choice other than to take him with him.

‘Why is he so attached to me?’ Leonard wondered why Jack stuck to him all these years when he never showed him any affection or talked to him for longer than necessary, he felt bad for treating him the way he did, but with the way Jack acted -always playing pranks on him and messing with him, to get a reaction out of him, like he did today, which was shock and fright this time and he must have filmed it, he was sure he would put it in a file, in the pc reserved to him only, his pictures, videos, and pieces of information about him- feeling bad for him didn’t last longer than two minutes.

And what was worse was that Jack's parents hated him and wanted him to stay away from their son but how can he do that when he was stuck to him like glue and stalked him.

It was quite shocking to find the pc and seeing the stuff on it was a bit traumatizing, it made him creeped out and scared to come back to his house, for his safety, he even thought of getting a restraining order, but he overcame it with time, thinking of Jack as a child who was playing and everyone has a weird cousin, right? (Yup!)

  When they entered the store, Jack started complaining about the smell and the atmosphere, Leonard ignored him and went to get a shopping cart, being ignored by Leonard wasn’t a new thing for Jack, who simply continued talking and didn’t let it bother him, after all, he liked that about him, his coldness toward him was one of the things that made him come back to him, he was just like that with him, with other people, he pretended in front of others but he was genuine in front of him, he was different, he was special.

“Why are you staring at a cucumber? Put it down or put it in the cart.”

“I am just imagining you sticking it somewhere.” Jack said, he seductively stared at Leonard, who only looked at him disgusted and continued walking to go find the sugar; Jack giggled to himself, he liked Leonard’s expression, it’s the most frequent one he sees, alongside his cold face; he put down the cucumber and followed after Leonard and only focused on him, he didn't see the person who was walking towards so they ended bumping into each other, which pissed j******f and he started screaming at the person, which attracted Leonard’s attention, who quickly came to see what was wrong.

“Kin?!" Leonard was a bit surprised to see Kin and Layla in front of him, with their arms linked together, what a coincidence.“Good morning, it’s a lovely morning, isn’t it?” Leonard said, with a lovely smile, which caught j******f guard because he had never him smile like that, what kind of smile was that? He had no data about it.

  “It became awful after seeing your ugly face.” Layla rolled her eyes at Leonard, she thought she finally had time to spend with Kin, without Leonard being around them but no, even in the very early morning, he had to be an annoying bee and buzz around them.

“Layla, be nice.” Kin said in a stern tone, which Layla angry, she was already in a bad mood because of Leonard’s sudden appearance and the man who bumped into them, and Kin scolding her was the icing on the top for her, she let go of his arm and started walking away.

“I don’t mind, I got used to her mad dog behavior, it’s kind of cute.” Leonard said with a smirk, Layla glared at him before she left, she gave him the middle finger as she entered the candy aisle.

“What are you doing here?” Kin asked and wondered why a rich person like Leonard was in a grocery store early in the morning.

“Just buying groceries, what about you?”

  "Buying snacks for Layla, she is going on a field trip today." Kin wasn't a fan of waking up early, but when Layla came to him panicked, that she didn't pack any snacks when she was the one in charge in her class, he felt bad and agreed to accompany her.

  "Oh." Leonard said and tried to think of a subject to talk to Kin about and remembered the attempted murder and the information he got, but Jack was near so he told him to go somewhere else while he and Kin went to another aisle, to discuss what he found out.

  Jack hated every second of that, in the same way, Layla did, she stuffed her face with marshmallows and glared at Leonard, while he was flirting with HER Kin and she noticed that she wasn't the only one who seemed to be the only one who hated that, it seemed as if the annoying man who bumped into them did too, interesting, maybe she could use him to her advantage.

“What are you looking at?” Jack shouted at Layla when he noticed her staring at him, for way too long and giving him a weird smile.

“Want to team up?”

“For what?”

“To break them up.”

“I am in.”

  And with that, the two strangers who don't even know each other's names, shook hands and teamed up to destroy the relationship Kin and Leonard had, or the one they thought they had, and take back their men, one for himself and the other for her brother.
