Gloomy

“How long are you going to keep me here? I am bored.” Layla was biting her nails, which she hated and only did when she was extremely bored, she had been trying to find a way to entertain herself for the last hour, but she couldn’t find anything. The previous times when she was kidn*pped, as a child or a teenager, she would get picked up in a few hours, but this time, it was taking long, it had already been half a day. “What do you want me to do? Let you roam around the house freely?” Nathaniel said with an annoyed look on his face, he was done with Layla’s spoiled behavior, couldn’t she just be a normal hostage and beg for her life? All the others were easier to deal with because they would just cry and try to run away, which he enjoyed looking at, through the security cameras. “Yeah, what’s wrong with that? It’s not like I am going to run away, on a second note maybe I will, depends on my mood really.”’ Layla was enjoying her time as a hostage, it didn’t happen everyday and she should enjoy it as much as she could. Being a hostage meant getting some actions, when it was time to escape or have someone get her, either way, the ending of the situation was always the best, she can’t wait to tell Nicholas about it, he was going to freak out (spoiler he will, but not in a good way like she thinks, in her slightly sick head) “You are not funny.” Nathaniel said as he rolled his eyes. “And your sense of humor is nonexistent, why are you so gloomy? It’s depressing.” She is the one who was kidn*pped, she should be the gloomy, he is her kidnapper, he should more…..glad, that he got here, it wouldn’t be impossible for her to walk away, but she was staying to have fun and he should provide her that, as her kidnapper, it would be rude if he doesn’t. “My little sister is in the hospital, between life and death, and you are asking me why I am gloomy?” Nathaniel depended on Natasha to survive, if he doesn’t see her in the morning, his day doesn’t go well and if he doesn’t tell her goodnight at night, he fails to sleep. Now, imagine his state right now, Natasha was in the hospital, in a coma, and they didn’t know whenever she was going to live or not, he doesn’t know if he was going to see her again, or laugh with her again in his life. He lived his days scarcely, scared of tomorrow, where he would get a call, from someone telling him she died, all because of Leonard and him breaking up with her. But after he paid someone to investigate what led up to the brea up, it weirdly connected to the Yuen’s, after Leonard got close to them, he changed around his sister and eventually broke up with her, after a conversation with one of the Yuen’s siblings. He couldn’t kidnap them, because one, Lucas was the precious first born, if he kidn*pped him, his parents along with his own parents (Nathalie’s parents) would kill him for touching him, second, Layla was just in front of him, he was just walking and saw his opportunity to take him so he did. It was not because Layla was a girl and easier to kidnap and control than the other two, it was definitely not because of that. We got off topic, let’s come back to the story; Nathaniel was having a hard time, controlling his emotions, when he remembered Natasha and the possibility of her dying. “Well she is still alive, isn’t she? It happened to me and I assure doing this will do nothing, what happened is already done and you should live in the present rather than the past and take care of yourself and your sister, instead of watching me here and staring at me.” Layla was the same when Kin was in the hospital, she didn’t eat, speak or do anything other than cry, in this life and the one before it. In the past one, she had hope that he would live but still cried, in this one, she knew he was going to die and couldn’t control her tears from overflowing until he woke up; losing or the possibility of losing a family member is heartbreaking, the person dying takes a part of your soul and heart with them when they die, even if you try to move on, you will always remember them, which isn’t a bad thing, but not moving on was, and she could see Nathaniel going that road if Natasha died. That would definitely end his life, hanging on to someone who is long gone, is the same as committing suicide, if you die with the person emotionally, you would be the same as them. Nathaniel wasn’t listening and didn’t like listening to her or her philosophy either, and said: “Shut up, I didn’t ask for you opinion.” “I am giving it ether way, you should let me go and visit your sister in the hospital, heck just stay with her there, you are rich, you can do it, I did it. Stay with her, tell her a story, paint her nails, do anything with her, I don’t know what you guys do, and stop thinking about revenge for something we didn’t even do.” Layla knew why she was kidn*pped, it was the stupidest reason yet, she could understand his feelings though, but what she couldn’t understand was, why in the next second, he slapped her. “I am warning you, I am not your friend and you are not my therapist, or next time, it won’t be just a punch.” Nathaniel said and walked away, leaving Layla handcuffed to the wall.
