My second heat had arrived sooner than I had hoped and Lycus wasn’t here to help me through this time, so it was inevitable- today I would be mated, claimed by Connor and bound to him forever.
The pain was so much stronger than the last time, I felt like I had been set ablaze, my abdomen burned sharply, like a thousand red hot pokers were stabbing me at once. The throbbing headache I had experienced in my last heat was nothing compared to the one I had now, I didn’t know what was happening around me, the pain had my head fogged, my hearing was dulled by the ringing caused by the migraine and I couldn’t open my eyes because the light stung and blinded my eyes.
The words that came from his mouth scared me, but I also felt a small amount of relief, it was a strange feeling.
