Chapter 4~ Under A New Company

1332 Words
Holy crap… It was Dominic Wolfe of Wolfe Entertainment… He was a very powerful man and owned two modeling companies. The best there was too… He stood at about six foot tall, he was tan, had medium brown hair that looked as if he ran his fingers through it constantly, and his eyes were light green. He glanced at me and smiled warmly before turning to Andrew, his smile fading as he did. “I hear that Miss Evans' contract is for sale for 1.9 million dollars? Is this correct, Mr. Marsden?” He asks him. His voice radiated power, causing Andrew to gulp and nod quickly. “Uh, y-yes sir. Check only, and you’ll have to fill out a receipt for me to put in her file,” he says weakly. He was clearly in shock. Andrew was scared. I could tell by his tone. Well, to be fair, two of us in this room have never been around someone so powerful… The other man walks up to Mr. Wolfe and hands him a checkbook and a pen. He swiftly fills out a check and hands it to Andrew, then Andrew hands him a receipt to sign. He does, handing it back before turning to me and Harper. “Ladies, shall we get some lunch?” He asks us. “Well, farewell then.” Andrew says. Clearly he, like myself, didn’t expect Mr. Wolfe to be the backer who would show up. “I’ll be back for my things tomorrow afternoon. My wardrobe belongs to me,” I said to Andrew before turning my back to him. Harper takes a step forward. “Lunch sounds awesome,” she says to Mr. Wolfe. He smiles lightly and turns to the other man that came along with him. “Leon, do you want to join us?” He asks. The man I now know to be Leon nods, “Sure Sir.” He answers, stepping next to Harper and Mr. Wolfe. Mr. Wolfe leads the way out of the office and to the elevator. The four of us get in and take it down to the lobby floor before exiting the building. We followed Mr. Wolfe to his car. Leon, the man with him, gets into the driver's seat, and we get into the back, which is built like a limo inside, two sets of seats and they were facing each other. Harper and I sat next to each other, me still dazed. The car pulls off and Mr. Wolfe turned to face me. “Don’t worry Miss Evans, Wolfe Entertainment is a lot more professional than Emperor. We value our models, actors, and actresses. As a matter of fact, I may even pull out future projects with them and cancel our business. I have no desire to start a business contract with such an unprofessional company,” he says, smiling at me as he sighs. “When would you like me to start Mr. Wolfe?” I asked him. “How about Wednesday? That can give you time to get some new shots set up with Harper and create the beginning of your portfolio for Wolfe Entertainment,” he answers me. I nod, excited about this opportunity. I wasn't taking this lightly. He had spent a lot on my contract, and I wasn't going to mess this up. This was just as amazing as being chosen for the Top 10. “You got it big bro,” Harper says to him. My eyes widen and my jaw drops. This was Harper’s brother? No…no way… Her last name was Connolly… She wouldn’t lie to me, would she? My mouth dried up, and I had to swallow before I could speak again. “Harper… I thought your last name was Connoly?” I asked finally, looking up at her. The guilt on her face is noticeable as she looks back at me. Harper’s P.o.v “Harper… I thought your last name was Connolly?” Asher asks, looking up at me. Crap… it was time for the truth… “Asher, we need to talk about something.” I said to her. “What? That you’ve been lying to me?” She asks in a low tone. “No, I haven’t lied… Not exactly… I hid my real surname but everything else you know about me is true.” I answer, my chest tight. I knew this was going to hurt, but I didn't expect it to be so bad… “Actually, Asher Evans, I asked my sister to conceal who she was because of who I am. I didn’t want the wrong people around her and asked her to put a false surname on her records while working for Emperor.” Dom interjects. I glared at him. If he wanted to succeed in winning Ash over, he needed to just stay quiet until it was his turn to be honest about his part in this in a few months… This plan had been thought of carefully. I was supposed to tell her who I really was after she’d left Emperor to get it off of my chest and to avoid a slip-up by calling Dom my brother. He was supposed to wait a couple of months, sending her anonymous gifts, getting her dinners with elite companies such as Boutuer Jewels and a couple of others before telling her why he’d bought her contract and wanted her at Wolfe, and about the first time he saw her. “Why would a Wolfe work for Emperor instead of Wolfe Entertainment?” Ash asks, catching onto key details. I knew she would, she wasn’t stupid. Like me, she was both pretty and smart. “I wanted to expand my options. Everyone knows who I am there. I didn’t want special treatment just because of my last name,” I answered. This wasn’t totally untrue. Dom did lead me on where to apply though. She thinks this over for a minute before nodding. “Okay, I can understand knowing what family you come from. Why deal with a job like being an assistant when you are as important as you are?” She asked me. “Because the less important the job title, the less people recognize who I am.I wanted a discrepancy.” I responded. She nods again, sitting back against the seat. We all sat in silence for the rest of the ride, Ash absorbing everything that just transpired in a short amount of time. After about fifteen minutes, we pulled up outside ‘La Piestro’s’, Dom’s favorite restaurant. Dom exits the back of the car first, holding the door for Asher and me. He closes it once we're all out and Leon walks around the car to us. We go inside and as soon as Piestro, the owner, sees us, he rushes over with a huge smile on his face. He always loved seeing us. “Mr. and Miss Wolfe! So lovely to see you both again! Miss Wolfe, it’s been a while.” He greets us. “Hello Gustav.” Dom and I both greet him. “Just the four of you for today?” He asks Dom, heading to grab menus. “Yes, just us.” He answers. Gustav nods and begins leading us to a booth hidden at the back of the restaurant. We liked this booth because it afforded a little extra privacy. Once we all sit down, he passes out the four menus and smiles again. “Anything to drink to start you off then?” He asks us. “A bottle of your best sweet red please Gustav, we’re celebrating today.” Dom tells him, smiling at Ash. “Miss Evans here is one of our newest models. Very talented on the runway and breathtaking in shoots, as well as one of the Top 10 models running for the “Top Model Award.” So we’re going to celebrate the win for both her and Wolfe Entertainment.” Dom adds.
