Alpha’s Human Mate

Chapter Two

Zacks POV

I love my midnight runs , they are so calming , my wolf can run freely doing what he wants without running into others. I can feel my wolf enjoying his run while I am lost in my thoughts. My mind wanders back to the conversation I hate with my parents earlier today. They want me to find a girl and make her my Luna. They think I should give up on the idea of ever finding my mate.

About 5 years ago , when I turned 21 I proposed to my childhood sweetheart Kelly , we were happily engaged but it always felt like something was missing. Meanwhile my sister found her mate in non other than my Beta and Best friend Liam. When I saw them I realised what I had been missing and realised I can not go ahead with marrying Kelly and so we broke it off. She found her mate the following year, while I am still waiting to find mine.

While being so lost in my thoughts I didn’t realise I was almost near the lake , the elder Micheal had mind linked us earlier to not go near the lake as he let some human girls camp over there . Anyway I will just hide in the trees and try and sneak past.

Suddenly I am hit with the most delicious smell , it smells like lychee and Black Tea. I go near the tent, I know this is creepy and I shouldn’t be doing it but I just have to take a peak. As I look in I notice the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen. She has brown hair and looks so peaceful. I wonder what she is dreaming about. Just then I notice her eye starting to open. I use my wolf speed and get out of there as quietly and quickly as possible. I wish I could see her properly, but that’s ok, I can always come back in the morning.

It’s around 7:30am I try and sneak past the pack house before my Beta, Delta and Chief Commander who also happen to be my best friend catch me and play 20 questions with me. I love them and all but they can be seriously nosy.

I thought I had almost made it when suddenly I hear Andy by chief commander call my name “Zack” S’up?” “Where are you going so early?” “Urm to the swimming hole” “awesome, we will come along too” says Sam my delta. Great I murmured but they all heard me, “why are you so grumpy so early ?” Asks Liam. “Because I can’t seem to get rid of you guys at all” “yeah that sucks, you are stuck with us for life” laughs Andy.

Just as we were mocking and teasing we were reaching the clearing. “Hey , Micheal said we should stay away from the clearing as they are some humans camping there” reminded Sam , “I know” I growled as I continued walking. They gave me a look but didn’t say anything. As we reached the clearing before we could even see the girl I was once again hit with the delicious scent of lychee and Black tea, as we walk a lil further I see the 3 girls packing up, I used my wolf’s sight to see her as they were still a little far from us. As soon as my eyes met her, even though it only lasted for a second and she probably didn’t even notice I knew she was my mate, the one I had been waiting for for the last 5 years.

While we help them pack their stuffs up I am trying to think of something to say to her but it’s like my brain doesn’t want to co operate with me, all I can think is how beautiful she is , with her brown eye and lil button nose and she has the perfect body too. All I wanna do is push her up against the trees and kiss her like my life depends on it. It doesn’t help that I am standing soo close to her as I help her load the car.

We are almost done packing , if I don’t say something now I will miss my chance and prolly never see her again. Just as I was thinking that I hear Liam ask “we were just going to the swimming hole if you ladies wanna join us, it’s about 10 min walk that way” , I notice that she got excited but then she stopped and hesitated, as if she was reminding herself that we just met, so cute. “You know you can trust us” I say to her , hopping she would come with us, she turned to look at me and I felt like my whole world had stopped, I pray to the moon goddess that she agrees to go with us. A whole min passes before she says “yeah ok, sounds fun”
