Banquet of surpries 2

Elaine couldn't tell whether it's a coincidence, or he'd planned a perfect timing for a grand entrance. After all, one you'd expect of a ruthless business tycoon is that he's not afraid of getting attention. She's wouldn't even be surprised if he knows that he's the talk of the room. Must have lifted his ego, in a way. He walked into the hall, and by the signs made by his grandfather, he joined the old man on the small podium. He whispered to Derek for a brief moment before proudly patting the back of his grandson whom stood a head taller than he is. "Everyone, thank you for your presence here. Apologies for my late attendance due to a meeting I must finish. Must say, I expect my grandfather to retire in a few years instead of now. He's just told me of his decision last night-" Derek goes on about how surprised he is, and continued his speech with re-assurement and gratitude for everyone's trust. "The females wouldn't mind working under him," Elaine muttered, too lazy to pay attention to his speech. "By literally? I'd agree, though it's not easy to catch him in a scandal," Daniel answered, eyes locked on the figure on the stage, ignoring Elaine's stare at him after hearing his answer. "I knew you're dumb, but no this dumb," she stated in bewilderment, making him turn to look at her in annoyance. "Aren't you thinking to low of me? I'm just wondering how he escaped all that. I wouldn't stepped my nose into that area except I'm trying to get disowned." "Well you weren't?" Daniel glared at her for a brief moment before looking away when he sees her smile. He refrained himself from beating her up, which is something this damned woman seemed to always try to be doing. Just as Derek is about to finish his speech, he looked around the room to meet the look of the people there, even just for a brief second. But then, his eyes stopped on a certain figure. Her long earrings made her profile looked graceful, along with her hair tidily made in an up-do, her face's clear to see, glowing under the chandelier crystal. Her glimmer dress seemed to hung on her at all the right places. With a long one sleeve, and dress that reaches up to the top of her knees, she's only revealing her neck, and a shoulder. She seemed to be holding her laugh, and when he saw the guy beside her, then it snapped why she had looked somehow familiar. It turned out that she's the person he'd seen clinging on Daniel Ashton. The fact made him frown. A few words was made by his grandfather, and he'll respond as accordingly. However he couldn't help it when he once again turned to look at them, and found grinning. What could've been so amusing that they couldn't stop laughing? at least her. He pulled his eyes away, and followed his grandfather to greet the BoD and upper management members. He introduced him to them, and let them have a brief conversation before he moves on to the other person, or group of people, which usually consist of five, maximum. "Mr. Winston, Ian Gregs, glad finally meeting you," he smiled. Ian gregs is a man with red hair, and wore a set of suit with maroon inner piece, and tie. A fan of red, it seemed. Derek accepted his hand and nodded, then the man goes on, "Owned about five percent of stocks, but my specialization is real estate. Find me anytime if you're looking for anything," he handed his name card out of his suit inside pocket, and offered it to Derek. "I can't believe he prepared a card just for that. I wouldn't be surprised even if he practiced the line in front of a mirror," Daniel scoffed, passing Elaine the glass of champagne he'd just taken. "You made him sound pathetic." Daniel scoffed. "Is he not?" Elaine rolled her eyes, and kept watching until he seemed to have felt her stare, and turned to stare at her too. She casually took a sip of her drink while maintaining eye contact, and then as expected, she seen him saying something towards Derek. "Oops, bait baited. Gotta run," she smiled at Daniel, handing over the champagne glass, and walked out to the small hallway. Daniel stared at her unsure as Ian hurriedly stormed towards her. When Daniel sees a waiter with filled glass, he hurries after her, and grabbed another glass to be finished immediately. He'd need it. When Ian Gregs passed him his name card, Derek had accepted it for formalities. He has five percent stocks but the way he acts up made him appear stupid. Doesn't he know that Derek could easily buy him out? Luckily, the other shareholder started to ask questions, but just as he said a few words, Ian seemed to have so much to say about it. Adding his own opinions, which some doesn't even correspond to the question. Then suddenly, he excused himself and walked like someone is setting his tails on fire. Derek looked at the direction Ian went, and finds that Ian's storming behind the woman who came with Daniel, while Daniel himself is nowhere in sight. As the shareholders are speaking with each other, he excused himself to follow after them. It's then he hears something distasteful to the ears. 120121
