"Elsie would be fine, Jessica," She chuckled. "And yes, I was eighteen. I went to look for acting gigs, and think that it'd be interesting to do. But then, I found an opportunity for a modeling gig instead. I couldn't say that modeling has been a dream to me since I was small, but it had always entranced me, and soon it became a dream of mine which glad-fully came true," she smiled wholeheartedly, eyes gleaming that even Jessica has a grin painted on her face.
"Well, wouldn't that be quite the inspiration girls would like to hear. Now tell me about your experiences. You're now a international supermodel, and you've won yourself various of big endorsement. How did those chances come by? Is it because you've always been the prima donna since you're younger, or?"
"Oh, no. That's seriously not it," Elsie immediately shook her head.
"The Elsie you see today, is the Elsie whom has undergo years of practice of walks, and how to dress up. Previously, I, like most girls, just sit at home with short and a tank, much frankly," she laughs, which made Jessica laughs too in surprise.
Elaine was silent for a moment, before she started speaking more seriously. "Many would have said, the first step is the hardest, and the rest will follows. Well, the first step is the leap, but there are many steps to follow before leveling up."
She remembered how she woke up that day, running out of breath as calmed her panicked heart. Her whole body is soaked, and her body is freezing over the cold season. She went home just to find the landlord waiting for her to clean her stuffs out of the house, and she doesn't even have time to change her wet clothes, which has gone dry by itself later.
"My- my first gig is mostly luck while the second is hard work. But I met a lot of people along the way, learned a thing or two, and when the chance came, I've progressed from my first gig, which helps me on getting the second gig. From there, the rest of my gigs come more easily step by step. Through we can't be picky to grow our portfolio, we needed to make sure that we take the gigs for how it's going to help us represent us," she smiled when she said that, and Jessica turned towards the camera, making sure that they had it recorded.
Her expression is truly genuine, and it'll be a loss on their part if they couldn't get to showcase it to the viewers.
"Modeling, allows me to see the world, meet many new friends and acquaintances. It allows me to more opportunities than I think of, and-" Elaine throws a glance at Daniel, seeing him staring at her in a certain expression.
He could only guess what's on her mind as the moment.
"It allows me to find the best version of myself," she smiled, her eyes twinkling as Daniel sighed.
Her smiles are bringing him headaches.
The interview went on for a while, until it finally ends.
"It's wonderful meeting you, Elsie," Jessica shook her hands again.
"Likewise, Jessica. Would you mind exchanging numbers?"
Jessica blinked, and agreed to it immediately. How could she say no to that? Having the chance to not just be acquainted, but also have a supermodel within a call away? She could show it off to her friends for days!
She joined Daniel, as he lead her back to her changing room to get her stuffs.
"Did you really asks for her number?"
"Don't worry, I wouldn't steal your person right under your nose," she told him dismissively, checking her phone.
"Sie, you have me within a button away. What are you collecting contacts for?"
"In terms of what I'll have these contacts for, don't you think it'll be better if I won their favors personally?" She looked up briefly to take a look at his expression.
"If something had happened, and you wanted them to bring up something to clean my name, or prove my innocence, let's say-" She emphasized upon seeing his glare- "They wouldn't have done it willingly. They would start more rumors instead behind your back, or even out rightly went against your orders."
Daniel doesn't know how her brain works, but one for sure, after knowing her all these years, she's not someone he'd taken lightly of. Especially the facts that she'd helped him went this far. He wouldn't even say a thing to what she'd have to say and follows through obediently.
Daniel stayed there for a while to accompany her until her assistant shows up. Meanwhile, they didn't realize someone had been staring at them as they exited the interview room and disappears behind corridors, which are the direction he, and his assistant is heading to.
He saw them going inside another room, and frowned. It's obviously none of his business, but should he able to meet Daniel, he'd ask what he's doing with her. After all, she didn't appear to be that interesting for him to continuously bringing her behind close doors and even arranged an interview for her with one of his most reputable journalist.
But as the elevator dinged open, he followed by his assistant went inside, and went straight to the basement where his ride is waiting for him. The car soon leaves the area, and along the way, his assistant called to him.
"Mr. Winston, you're asked to confirm your attendance to the Berkshire banquet."
He remained silent for a moment, and looked at his assistant sitting beside the driver's seat.
"Confirm, and clear my schedule along for the next day."
