Chapter Twelve – Breaking the Ice

241 Words
Elena’s POV The moment Adrian’s lips left mine, the air between us seemed to crackle with electricity. He didn’t pull away—not really. Instead, his hand slid down my arm, warm and commanding, trailing toward my waist. “Do you have any idea what you just did to me?” His voice was low, rough, a dangerous promise. I swallowed hard, heart hammering. “I think I have a pretty good idea.” His gaze darkened, smoldering like a fire barely contained. “Good. Because I’m far from done.” Before I could respond, his mouth was back on mine—harder this time, demanding. His hands tangled in my hair, pulling me closer until there was no space left between us. I could feel the heat of his body, the power in his touch, and I realized this was more than desire. It was possession. His fingers slipped beneath the hem of my blouse, tracing the curve of my ribs, making my breath hitch. “Tell me you want this,” he growled, his voice thick with need. I bit my lip, meeting his gaze without hesitation. “I want you.” His smile was wicked. “Good girl.” He lifted me effortlessly, carrying me toward the sleek leather couch as the city lights flickered through the windows behind us. And just like that, the Ice King’s fortress began to crumble—one heated touch at a time.
